Decided to give them a try last minute without a reservation last weekend. We wanted a booth and had to wait 15 minutes, not bad. Great veal bolognese with papardelle pasta and the grilled veal chop is one of the best iv'e had. Service was good, although i think they have too many buss boys.
save you money not worth it....mothers day dinner....wow...asked for extra zip sauce 3.00 upcharge asked for soup instead of salad 6.oo upcharge...65 and 75 dollar ribeyes and a customer wants a little extra zip sauce and they charge you...honestly the steaks werent that great have had better at local chop houses ...alot of hype and 5 star reviews.....dont see how....it was work just cutting into the 75.00 steak...i gave up and took it home....even if a ribeye is fatty and enhances the flavor...it was marbled with fat everywhere....not a good choice for dining!
Went with another couple for New Year's Eve...first time there. Our meals were outstanding, but it was so loud we literally could not talk across the table. The ceiling is all open, and the live music in our room made it just way too loud for any night, holiday or not. No need for music when the room is already too noisy. Next time I will ask to be seated in the first room.
The service was unfriendly. The place was closing at 11pm and we got there a few minutes after 10pm. The hostess wouldn't even come to the front to sit us and the wait staff ran over to say the cook was done for the night. Finally the manager came over and told them to seat us. It was way OVER priced. It's not kid friendly at all. There's not a kids menu. I had in 8 and 10 year old and an adult meal is to much food for them so they split and they charge $5 to split it. Your not allowed to split without the charge even though there is no kids menu. If you celebrate a holiday or birthday and bring a cake they charge you a $2 per person slice charge on your own cake. Drinks were slow to be refilled. The place never has anyone there and now we know why. I would suggest going to Novi for Italian not here.
Horrible experience - had a reservation and we waited for an hour before being seated - not even a lousy free drink for the wait - poor service - over priced and the food was not even that good - NEVER GO BACK.
This place is really good, I really can't complain to much, It was our server's very first night so I'll cut her some slack, the only minor thing was there was a lot of downtime after we finished our salads waiting for our entrees, but it wasn't that big of a deal, the great food made it well worth the wait. This place is a bit pricey, just be prepared for that, but every thing is so yummy.
It amused me that they have Valet parking, when one can easy park & walk 30 feet to door, oh well to each his own.
I went to Volare when it first opened and have been back many times since. I simply cannot find one complaint. The food is very refined Italian, the wines are well selected and the waiting staff strikes the right balance between professionalism and joviality. And all this for very moderate prices. Simply one of the best restaurants in Michigan PS. The bar is the best place to sit.
