To come to Málaga and not eat fresh anchovies is a mortal sin. This is not only because the dish and the fish are symbolic of the city or because Málaga's citizens are nicknamed thus, but because they are simply delicious.But it's not just fresh anchovy that you have here.You can also eat sardines on the spit, all types of fried dishes, seafood paellas, salads and fish on skewers.Accompany your meal with one of their good wines or cold beer.One of the best things about this place is that it is just opposite the Acacias beach. It is very popular with families and tourists.

Caleno - A masterpiece in seafood

Living in Malaga for a year had many great advantages, one of the main ones however was being located in Pedregalejo, 5 minutes walk from El Caleno!
Although the most popular seafood restaurant along the stretch of coast towards El Palo, the wait is worth it as the food there supasses anything the others have to offer. If possible try to get there on a weekday as weekends are impossibly busy with local families (with parties of up to 20 Spaniards) and the wait is unbearable when you smell the aromas coming from the kitchen area!

When seated, the staff are friendly and efficient (tho speak very very little english) and your meal will be with you soon! Best way to order is to order a few different dished and leave them in the middle of the table (the spanish way!) then share them.

Personal recomendations are the Adobo and the Calamares! Melt in your mouth-tastic!
