I ate at the restaurant a couple of weeks ago and was surprised that the food was good. I heard some bad things about it. Now - I understand they have a different owner and the owner is actually the chef. I had yuk kae jung. I like the soup to be served in the earthenware bowl - like in Korea, but mine was served in a stainless steel bowl. Overall the soup was good. My sister-in-law had the bibimbop and she said it was good. I live close to the place. Thats why we went there. Otherwise - the very best Yuk kae jung in my opinion is at the H-Mart - Aurora. Altho they don't serve banchan.
We first tried this place about 2 months ago and have been back 5 times since (a lot for us). The food has always been very fresh, the variety of side dishes always fresh and tasty. We love the all you can eat BBQ.
I highly recommend the seasoned ribs (heaven!), cha dol baegi, kalbi, bulgogi, and the kimchee chigae (it’s wonderful spicy soup). The spicy chicken was tasty also. All the side dishes and seasonings were wonderful (except the odd potato salad or chicken salad?)
I wouldn't recommend the spicy pork (was a little TOO spicy for me) and the calamari cooks up a little rubbery.
I didn't try their Bibimbob because we always order the BBQ special.
The service is OK, there are usually only 1 or 2 people working, so when it's busy, it can be hard to get a drink refill but they try. They are usually very friendly but not always able to be attentive.
We have become regulars now so they expect us to cook our own food at our grill, but they used to cook it for us when we first started going.
If you don't want to drive all the way out to Aurora where the other Korean places are, I would definitely recommend giving this place a try!
I was excited to see a Korean restaurant in the west side of the city so I had to try it. I am a Korean and not a picky eater, however the food was so terrible I only ate some rice and kimchee. I have never tasted such awful Korean food in my life. The service was even worse, it took more than 20 mins for my lunch even though I was the only customer at the time (may be that should've been a good indication).
I WOULD recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!!!!
Wow, I was in shock. I brought many of my Korean friends to this place, the service was bad, the person should be fired that was waiting on us. We were brought the wrong food and we even gave the order in Korean. The food was bland and the beef was old. I will never bring anyone there again.Korean Garden is an insult to our culture.
There aren't many Korean restaurants on the west side of town, and that makes this one all the better. The food is authentic (ask my friend from Korea who introduced me to it) and delicious!!! I love the variety of side dishes that are served with every meal. The service can be slow if they are busy, but it is definitely worth the wait. If you like Korean, try this one!
This is one of the best Korean restaurants in the Denver metro area, and may be the only authentic Korean place you can get to in the northwest area of greater Denver.
They have the usual Korean BBQ bulgalbi, bulgogi, doeji-bulgogi etc. Cook it yourself at one of the smokeless BBQ tables or have the chef cook it for you. All the BBQ choices are very tasty. Their little dishes of different kimchees etc. are very tasty as well and you get ~8 of them with your order. If you are not in the mood for BBQ they have other entrees like traditional Korean fermented soybean stew (doen-jang chigae).
It's a family restaurant so service can be a bit slow when they are busy.
