Cafe Fiore is located in historic downtown Ventura, just blocks from the beach. Our comfortable booths have loose pillow seating which gives the restaurant a warm and delightful atmosphere. Come sit by the warm fireplace or have a seat at our fully stocked bar and sip some of our most innovative cocktails or just some of our 40 martinis. Our traditional Southern Italian cooking is made with old world recipes brought to you fresh from our own farmers market. We take pride in giving our utmost service to our diners and to make everyone feel like family. If patio dining is what you are looking for, try our covered heated patio that feels like you are in a Tuscan villa or try our expanded patio and sit in our private cabanas and enjoy the fireplace and the spinning sounds of the hottest DJ's. Look on our website for fun events, like our summer cigar dinners, wine tasting events and our annual picnic and movie in the park. We look forward to serving you! Cheers and Bon Appeti
The only good thing about this place is the ambiance. The service is dreadful, the food was mediocre and overpriced and the staff is rude. I went there for my birthday a few weeks ago, we had made reservations for 8 and only 5 of us got there on time. Because of which, they refused to seat us until the entire party was there. Once seated it took approx. 15 minutes to come up and take our drink order. We were there for maybe a total of 2 hours, everyone in my party got a main course and an alcoholic beverage or 2 a piece and each of our bills were $30-$50 per person. They force an 18% gratuity fee into your bill so there's no way of actually tipping them the crappy amount they deserve. Everyone in my party agreed, the treehouse loung we sat in was beautiful but none of us would ever be returning based on the service, price and quality of the food.
Celebrated my birthday with a group of 30 in the Tree House Lounge. Some of us went early for dinner and loved the food. Make reservations. There were 12 of us and the service was slow. But the food was excellent. The lighting was so poor we had to read by cell phone light. Suzanne did the best she could and made good suggestions with food and drink. The drinks were very good and not weak as with other bars. The DJ played a good mix of older and current songs. All dancing music which is why I picked this place. My family had the best time dancing with each other. It was one of my most memorable birthdays. Thank You Cafe Fiore.
I used to love Cafe Fiore. The atmosphere is so beautiful, the food was delicious, and the service was top notch, however on my most recent experience I would have to say that the latter two have gone downhill significantly. The food was sub par and terribly overpriced and the service was so slow and quite unattentive in general.
The wine list by the glass was somewhat lacking, especially for an Italian restaurant. They didn't even offer a blend by the glass. So I ordered a wine on the server (Suzanne's) recommendation and I checked the menu to see the price, and when we got our bill she charged me $2.50 more per glass. When I brought it to her attention she brought me a completely different menu to show me what I ordered and not only was it a different menu, the way they had it labeled was different. It isn't even about the money, it is just the principle of it.
The food was just okay honestly. Not at all worth the price. I've paid less than half that amount for Penne Arrabiata in the past and it was heavenly. This was just noodles in sauce really. Might as well have been called ragu. If it weren't for the pound of parmesan cheese I had them add to the sauce it would have been terrible.
Our server, Suzanne, was so unfriendly and as a former server who takes care of her own, I was really disappointed at the lack of attention and willingness to listen. She lost more than the slight difference on the wine in her tip, needless to say, and I am always a 20% + tipper.
The atmosphere is the only redeeming quality of this establishment, so if ever I am in the mood for an overpriced glass of wine in a beautiful environment, I may go back, but other than that, I'll pass.
If you like service that drags on for hours, lighting that is so poor that you can't see the munu and a confused bar/dining scene this is your restaurant. We were seated in an outside area that is trying to be cool but breaks down totally. The decor is strange, the lighting inadequate and the timing of service horrible. They have opened a second bar in this outside area and it just doesn't work. I am not sure, but i think this restaurant has made the fatal mistake of expanding to a level that it cannot sustain. Too bad because this once was a very good restaurant.
My friends and I went to Cafe Fiore for lunch and split the check 9 ways - 5 of us paid with credit cards and 4 with cash. When I checked my bank account, I was charged the entire amount of the bill and another person was charged her individual amount and the other 3 cards were not charged. So overall, we were charged for $15 over the total bill and they had collected nearly $60 in cash. When I contacted the manager about the situation, she was very rude and insisted that she would charge back my credit card, but still charged me for my portion of the meal. Overall, the situation was handled horribly and she did not even offer any kindness or concern for a problem that was their responsiblity. I will NEVER eat at Cafe Fiore again and recommend that you do not as well if you insist on only being charged for what you ordered. This is an ongoing problem with them as I have heard other complaints of them overcharging people's credit cards and then pocketing the cash.
I have tried the food several times and have always been disappointed. I love the atmosphere and the service is wonderful but just can't stand the food. My husband went there recently to use a gift certificate we had. We both left our plates full and decided to have dessert instead. It's a great place to have drinks and perhaps dessert. But, if you want a really good meal I would try another restaurant.
