I don't know where these good reviews are coming from. This was one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. I'm a vegetarian, and at first I was happy to see that there were a number of vegetarian items on the menu. But many of those options involved fried foods, which I avoid. Whatever I ended up getting was overly salty and absolutely unpalatable. My husband is not a vegetarian -- he said his meal was okay but not particularly good. Service was not terrible but was nothing special.
anyone that wrote a good review must really enjoy food without seasoning, drenched in canned sauces, and receiving marginal service. everything appears to be cooked out of a can, the sauce, the meat, etc. this restaurant is a disgrace to mexican food and the latino culture.
the service is decent but it is clear that the staff is more hospitable to certain people by bringing them extra chips or refilling their drinks much quicker.
i ate about 6 bites of this meal and will probably have diarrhea later, unless i vomit it up first.
i'm a californian, and i know mexican food. this place is pure trash. we ordered a couple of combination plates (burritos, tacos, chimichangas, tamale) and only the rice was marginally edible. burritos only have beef in them, ground beef (unseasoned, not carne asada) so there is no flavor.
the food was absolutely tasteless, no seasoning, no limes, no salt, nothing added for the flavor. the tortillas are cold and do not taste fresh.
i would have preferred to go to taco bell and suggest you do as well instead of going to pancho poopo's.
ok, look. i won't even address the food, because as lackluster as it is, i still go in there from time to time and buy it.
i just want to put a warning out there for other vegetarians - NOTHING on the 'vegetarian' menu is actually veg! the rice is cooked in chicken stock, and the enchilada / poblano sauce that's on everything is made with chicken. to get a veg meal you have to improvise off the menu. the beans are veg, and the red sauce they use for the burritos is too. make up some combo of that stuff and avoid the rice.
but yes, the food is pretty substandard in general as well.
