Ghost Tours of St. Augustine
At this 90-minute tour, you'll find the answers to questions like "Who was almost buried alive?" and "What is the Judge looking for in the cemetery?" Tour guides dress in period costumes and light the way with lanterns as they retell tales of centuries past, of lovers scorned and ghostly hauntings. There is also a Lighthouse Ghost Tour Tuesday evenings and a special late night walking tour late Saturday night.
This place was hilarious. If you're looking for a good laugh and nothing about the supernatural at ALL then do this. If you want to find ghosts, don't go here. Ever. Stay at home. You'll have more luck there. Out tour guide was hysterical. He was overly dramatic and kept yelling GHOOOOST. I spent the whole tour laughing at him. Worst ghost tour ever. Best for the hilarity factor.
1 star for the ghost, but 3 for the acting.
We decided to do a ghost tour on Halloween, we went with the walking tour we thought it was Lame, we saw 3 "actors " playing people from the past and had no real encounters, we were near the 2 large cemetaries , saw nothing, my husband was very disappointed. Willnever go with this group again.
I love St. Augustine. It was so much fun. To actually find ghost you have to do it alone, no tours. The Tours are a great way to get a little information on the city. The ghost tours I would recommed is Ghost of the mantazas..Ghost and gravestones..and atleast one walking tour. Mind you these tours are not to find the ghosts just to learn about them. The jail was pretty cool. As we know that the lighthose is haunted. I have a few really good picture from our trip. Couple of orbs( not a big fan of orbs though) they can be anything. I did get a blue face at the fort from the room that a physic ran out of. Make sure you bring lots of batteries for you digital cameras, spirits have been known to use them for enegy. I can't wait to go back. Its great family fun and you will talk about your visit for a long time to come.
The GhoSt Augustine Hearse Ride Tour was an excellent experience. I have never had an interest in ghosts before this. We rode along the back streets of the town to some of the most haunted inns and houses. Our tour guide, Bruce, was extremely informative and had some great personal stories of when he stayed in these places. The night was capped off with a sweep of the Lighthouse grounds which brought the most activity of the night!! Our meter was going off the charts, and I had a couple instances where every hair on my body stood straight up for no reason. Awesome tour, great tour guide, and fun riding in a hearse!!
I love ghost stories and some sent some shiver down my spine, if you are looking for actual ghost then this may not be for you, but if you just want a good time and some good stories then I highly recommend this!!!!
I have taken this tour a couple times. I have read the reviews here and felt the need to remind users that these ghost tours are more for entertainment than for actual ghost hunting. If you are looking for more of a "Ghost Hunters" type of tour, I recommend the scientific tour that starts at the coffee house on Charlotte Street. Otherwise, the more mainstream tours offer a theatrical, yet historically accurate storytelling.
I myself did not go on any of the ghost tours because of some of the other reviews i had seen prior to my trip and i really dodged a bullet. Every ghost tour group i passed while on the Old Town Trolley (which i recommend) seemed more interested in the trolley than the ghost tour. It didnt matter what company gave the tour they were all pretty much the same. Dont waste your money or time, there are better things to do
We went in early January and we were really disappointed. We did the trolley tour and our tour guide was really over the top. She tried way to hard to prove that there was something paranormal in all the places. I don't think I will try any of their other tours
I would highly suggest not wasting your money on "a ghostly experience" our guide Patricia was incredibly cheesy and there was absolutely nothing spooky about the tour. The stories were laughable and we didn't go anywhere worth mentioning. Visiting the cemetaries consisted of us peeking over the fence instead of actually walking through. Then our guide had the nerve to ask for tips at the end! Stay away from this one.
