Ships Lantern, Fernandina Beach

I have been employed here about three years. I listen to the people who enter here and I have read this first review submitted over two years ago. I consider myself not rude and I surely am not unfriendly. I feel insulted regarding this written deprivation of my character. The truth of the matter is that there is a common description stated by the majority of the people who enter the Ships Lantern. People say: look at all the stuff, neat stuff, neat collections. I in turn usually say neato stuff. Most people come into the shop to see what sharks teeth look like. There are indeed more lookers than buyers but that is expected during slow season. Children are welcome here and must be accompanied by an adult. It is at our disgretion to impliment safety in the shop as well as keeping it calm for all concerned. No food or drinks are allowed. Please do not feed the fish or disturb them in any way. Sad to say that several have been killed. We have a large variety of inventory here and this shop has been here over fourty years. I believe you will be greeted friendly everytime you enter. We are ready to provide assistance for any item you see inside to purchase, as well as give you local information, including location of the nearest restroom, or even discuss upcoming festive events. We have pirates downtown often enough. I like the variety of items here. I can not keep up with all the dusting, but will gladly dust something off before you bring it home. There are some items in the shop that are not liked by seeing it, such as the displayed taxidermied six foot rattlesnake. I suppose this is a shop where most of it should not be touched unless you really want to get a closer look, or plan to buy it. There are breakable items here and fine art, including unique stuff and souvenirs. This place is casual and like a museum. This is not a play park. The isles are narrow like on a ship. We promote and initate conversation here. Your experience here for the most part will be relaxed, after all, it will take you a slow journey throughout the shop. I do recommend this shop to you not becasue I work here but because you are welcome here. I invite you to spend some time in the shop and ask us about what you are not sure about.
