Clark's Fish Camp
Clark's is home to traditional Florida seafood, steaks, chicken, and out of the ordinary game. This popular and always-crowded spot can be found in Mandarin, on the south side of Jacksonville right on Julington Creek. They have been going strong here since the 1950s, serving up favorites from finger food to hearty full sized entrees. Alligator tail is a specialty. The rustic, faintly nautical theme comes complete with nets on the walls. It's a casual, family-friendly spot with views overlooking Julington Creek.
The night started out right. Great location, right on the river, outside bar, looks out over the water- very nice. Unfortunatly, that's where it ended. Service was laughable. Hostess was rude and waitress even ruder. Waited 1.5 hrs for a tough steak and a tiny bowl of breaded shrimp right out of the freezer. Soup tasted like warm water with a brown crayon dipped in it. When the bill came, I had to laugh out loud. With all the great places to eat in the area, I can't see why anyone would eat here twice.
McDonalds/Burger King Quality.
My family and i visited Clarks Fish Camp on a Monday night in Jan. Ok you think monday, food should be prepared regularly, not busy and great service. Our experience was a complete 180. Our waitress who was named Peggy was consistently rude and very slow at her job. Our salads came right as our entrees were being passed out from a kid who looked to be 14. By the time we finsihed our salads (which were made up of all stalks) our dinner was freezing. This was a horrible experience and a waste of my money and time
I used to come from Tennessee to visit about once a month and when she took me here for my first time I wanted to go back EVERY time!! I loved the food! It’s a little pricey but it’s worth it! Now that I moved down here I get to go more often!! I love it; I would highly recommend it to ANYONE! They have so many varieties of food I tried so many new things here and loved them all!! My service has always been great and I feel almost like in back at home in the country instead of being in the city all the time!
when the family and i visited clarks fish camp it was a pleaseant experience! The food was great and the wait staff was excellent!! Our waitress was "sonja" and she was amazing, she had a great personality and was very attentive to our needs! Everything was freshly prepared and delivered right away!the atmosphere is really nice as well.. I would deffinetely reccommend this restraunt to friends and family for family get togethers and partys, and if you really want a pleasant experience ask for sonja-she is awesome!
The atmosphere and food were fabulous. This is quite a unique place to dine. Great menu selection. My husband is not a fan of seafood, but there was much more to choose from. The prime rib was amazing. I had the shrab salad--DELICIOUS!!! Our other family members were equally impressed with their meals.
I have been going there for @ 30 years and always love their food,
Until yesterday. The Devil crab had no crab in it, It tasted like the ones you buy at Winn Dixie. They were frozen, not fresh, and they were burnt. The Ass. Manager said they always come like that, so eat them. RUDE..... The Shrimp was breaded so heavy it tasted like all bread, no shrimp taste and they were like rubber. The head waitress was great, but the Ass. Manager did not want to get off her lazy butt to talk to us. We were two tables away. I am glad I took my son and parents there for my son birthday. He hated the food. The food has change for the worse and I may not go back there nor my family, because they wanted to go cheap on the food by not having to pay a delivery charge for the food supplier. We used to go there about once a week until now, unless they go back to the way their father made this restaurant a great place to eat and enjoy. A very unhappy Customer!
My sister in law made reservations for 18 people on July 1, 2007 for her mother and fathers (my mother and father in law)40th wedding anniversary. The whole family minus two people who were late, were in the reserved room enjoying the party when the manager of the restaurant BARGED in and and aggressively grabbed the (fragile) anniversary cake that belonged to my in laws! She was moving it to clear a table for OTHER people!! She claimed that since two of the people in out party were late, it voided our reservation of the room!! She was EXREMELY RUDE and she made a HUGE scene! It was SO embarrassing we will NEVER go there again! That manager has NO consideration for others and NO manners!
We arrived at the restaurant on the 4th of July, 2007, at the recommend of a local real estate agent who is helping us relocate from Chicago.
The food was very good and the service just a bit on the slow side.
I recommend this restaurant and if we finally move to Jacksonville from Chicago we'll return to Clark's.
