Went to this restaurant to celebrate a birthday, which was noted on our reservation. We got to the restaurant, got seated a few minute before our reservation, then left after 25 minutes of waiting, not even our drink order was taken. It s been a couple of weeks since talking to store manager and we still haven t received anything for our trouble. Very disappointed in staff and how this hass been handled. Would comment on the food, but we never got any.

Place seems sorta like a hole in the hole the wall, but as you go down the stairs I did like the place, lighting, table, decor, etc. Food was good but the service was poor at best. As the waiter brought the waters out, the entire plate of glasses spilled all over our table and both my son and myself were soaked. Not a good way to start the evening. As I went to the bathroom to dry out, I noticed one of the waiter's using the facilities, left w/o washing their hands. Hmmm, I know in the resturant business cleaness is a must but this was repulsive. At least this waiter was not serving at our table but none the less. I really wanted to leave but this was ny wife's birthday and also mother's day so we stayed. The food for the most part was good, we did inform out waiter that my wife and son are both celiac, but the waiter still brought out sauses that contained flour. I am sorry but if we tell you 3 times we are allergic to flour, STOP BRINGING OUR TABLE FLOUR BASED ITEMS. Also had to remind the waiter to fill our glasses up several times during the meal. I spoke with a manager about the issues we had with the service and they did knock off $50 bucks off our meal, What really concerned me was the fact their employees are not washing their hands after they use the washroom, her response was well our employees use hand santizer every hour. Sorry this is not what I wanted to hear. She did not even come back and explained what had been done about reducing the bill. Sorry but that is poor customer service and tells me why the service is so poor, if direct management acts this way. Just a total lack of inexperience management in place. The food is good though and cooking it with my family was fun experience. If you do decide to go keep in mind this would you want to eat at a place where the wait staff does not wash their hands after using the restroom?

This is an odd place to rate. Dinner for two cost me about $150 and the service was sh%#. But this has got to be best place to break the ice on a date!!! If you sit back and think you are gonna be served you are sadly mistaken. You guys have togeter tocook your own 8 course meal, fondue style!!! A 2 hour date easily, and you will have to communicate often to cook agood meal. You walk down into a dungeon with a great bar if you are just in for an afterwork drink.

Fabulously Fun Desserts

Who says you can't play with your food? Go for the cheese. Go for the chocolate. Consider the rest of dinner only if you come with huge appetites and deep pockets.

Food, about 100 bucks, Tip, 20 bucks, Ambiance (even without a man to share it with), Priceless! This was my 10th visit to the melting pot, however, it was one of the better experiences that I have ever had there. Thanks Katie ( the waitress.)

why i wouldn't go back and a few likes.
By ,
I am a big fan of Geja's cafe and a of there dishes. I was interested in try a new place so decided on the melting pot. At first the menu seemed great. Many choices of cheeses, salads, mixture of meat and sea food and chocolate. I was with a few of my friends to celebrate two birthdays. We started with two types of cheeses. The three cheese wisconsin tastes like pure wine and the cheddar didn't have a good cheddar taste. Both cheeses were very stringy, not nice and creamy at all. The blending of ingredients were not well blended at all ,it took from the cheese taste. The salads where great but, I was looking for great fondue not great salad. We moved onto the meat, sea food and veggie part. The red meats were great. The sea food was okay and the white meat was average. We excited about the different ways of cooking all of this just to find out it really didn't make to much of a difference as far as flavor. The veggie choices were okay, potatoes did not cook well between 4 of us we got 1 decent potato. We all know brocolli is good but it doesn't fondue well. The rest of the veggies were fine. The dipping sauce choices were not all that great. Nothing too great to rave about. Last was dessert; the flaming turtle was wonderful ,so was the chocolate and the peanut butter also all the fruits and sweets too. By dessert I had gotten so sick from the food. Thank goodness for tums and pepto.

The Best!

If you want a great night out... Here it is... It is kinda costly but a great time to meet up with friends or celebrate a birthday. Plus you are right downtown with lots of things to do after. They have a large wine selection and a fun little bar to sit in while you wait for your table. You must make reservations!
