The Tomato Bistro
The Tomato Bistro's intention is to serve its clientele with a mix of popular Couch Tomato Cafe favorites and a dynamic clutch of "small plate" menu options. The desire to further pander to customers palates is facilitated by the fully stocked bar, touting a rotating list of featured wines and craft beers. A few of the most salient points carried upstairs from the cafe below are the continuation of moderate prices, the ingenious combinations of quality ingredients, and the premium placed on the customer experience. The Bistro creates a forum for family and friends to relax and mingle amidst an impeccably chosen array of food and drink. The Bistro can accommodate parties of most any size or disposition, and the time spent inside its cozy environs will hardly be reflected with the waiter's final stop at the table.
We arrived at The Tomato Bistro at 3:30pm, which was still technically lunch, so that was cool. We got an awesome beer flight of several tasty craft beers and some super yummy sliders. I particularly enjoyed the fried egg slider topped with apple jam and my partner liked the spiciness of the pimiento slider. The house-made chips were delightful. The portions were just enough to feel full, but not over-full. Will definitely be back to try their dinner menu and lunch buffet. Great place for gluten-free, vegan, and paleo diets!
I came to Tomato Bistro on a whim with a friend on a Sunday early afternoon. I had been wanting to try it for a while, and wasn t disappointed!! We were offered the Sunday Brunch buffet, which we didn t even know existed...so we took a look then went ahead with it! Full of different kinds of pizza, salads, veggies, and hot food - it did not disappoint. What I liked best was that the pizza was cut into small pieces so you could try many different kinds without leaving food on your plate. Will definitely come back to try dinner there! Highly recommend!
We love The Tomato Bistro! We had been looking for restaurants that were healthier than the usual fare, that had vegetarian and gluten-free options, and The Tomato Bistro is just what we were looking for. The food is delicious - I particularly love the tomato bisque. The pizzas are also fabulous - I get the whole wheat crust. My husband gets gluten-free and I have to say that I like that too! The service is friendly, and we love the free valet service, which in Manayunk is a huge plus. Definitely try The Tomato Bistro.
