Tram with a View
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/12/06
The tram was great - even for me who is afraid of heights!
The tram - locally known as the Gondola - departs from Heavenly Village, makes a stop at an observation deck and ends up at the base of the mountain before heading back down.
The smooth ride and attentive staff help make sure you enjoy every inch of the view, which takes in much of Lake Tahoe in all of its glory.
Even if you don't ski or snowboard (like me!), taking the Gondola/Tram to the top is a must! My favorite part of the day was the apres ski bar, which you can reach by riding the Gondola!
Although a word regarding price...
Tram ride only (no lift ticket) is $24
Lift ticket ($70 for day, $55 for halfday)
Overall - best idea is to enjoy the mountain, the tram and the apres ski.
