To enjoy the beauty of Lake Tahoe from a different perspective, take a cruise on the Tahoe Queen. The three deck, 500 passenger paddlewheeler cruises the scenic south shore and Emerald Bay . A portion of the vessel has a glass bottom for viewing the mysteries of the deep. For a romantic evening, the Dinner Dance Cruise offers complimentary champagne and live music; discounts are available for seniors. Lunch is available for an extra charge. Departure times vary with the season, call ahead for schedule and reservations.
I took my boyfriend on the dinner dance cruise expecting a romantic dinner. I paid extra for flutes and dessert. Not a deal at all! I got dinner but was crammed (seated) next to 20 people. Literally elbow to elbow. I had no privacy to converse or eat with my loved one. I would take the cruise again but not the dinner one! Maybe afternoon cruise and I would eat elsewhere.
Overall I enjoyed the trip, but I thought we would have saw more of the lake. But I did total enjoy what we got it was a very nice paddle boat, and the caption was great with telling the history of the lake. I just thought the trip would take to the north side of the lake not just one of the bays.
Well first it's 25 dollars a person to ride this supposed glass bottom boat, when in reality the bottom part that is glass is a section you look down into with 4 glass panes to see the bottom. The drinks are over priced and the boat is usually pretty crowded so its hard to get around with out bumping into people. also the food used to have better choices on the menu but now there are only a few. Its good for a one time venture but not as exciting as they make it out to be!
