Books, Coffee, Cookies, Couches

My first impression upon entering the store was that this bookstore had the feel of a local coffeehouse but without the bustling crowds. Upon closer inspection, there was a whimsical logic to the placement of titles (with a compliment of used titles as their topics were thrusted into the limelight again by current events.) Another section was rich with the Lake Tahoe area history and folklore covering early settlement, recreation, and development from railroads, timber, and tourism into the recreation jewel it is today. The staff were quite knowledgeable of their collection and were able to special order any title that was not immediately in stock. Not being a coffee drinker, I was quite satisfied with a hot chocolate made with steamed milk from the coffee bar.
