View, service and food have alway met or exceeded expectations every time...we were treated like family and Bob and his staff are always courteous and on the mark...that's why we go back...the great martini's don't hurt.........
...prices were $$$$ but if the food and service were all that ...what's to complain about.
...take your best gal or guy at sunset...spectacular...!
Food was great! Everything served timely and the way we ordered it. Several extras were offered that made the meal. Blackened shrimp with pineapple buerre blanc, sauteed sherry mushrooms with our steak and chocolate truffles with bubbling dried ice presentation finished off the meal with style.
Excellent service and if the sun was up I'm sure a breathtaking view, but for us it was not worth the money. After tip our bill for 2 was $150, which included 3 drinks and dinner - no appetizers or dessert. My wife had the crab legs which were a little overcooked, and I had the fillet and scampi over fettuccine, which was drowned in a quarter inch of butter. The food was not bad, just really mediocre and not a good value in both of our books.
I've eaten here on two seperate occassions years apart. The first time a member of our party recieved asparagus with the purple rubber band still on it, the steaks were cold and improperly cooked. Whatever you do don't get the crab legs unless you like them cold and dry as if they've been sitting for hours. On the second occassion with a party of 7 we sent 2 dishes back due to their quality. Managment didn't even make an effort to compensate us. In all fairness, the view is amazing from the restraunt (especially with a window seat) and the waiters were always personable and friendly. Coming from someone that frequents 5 star restraunts at least once a month: If you're willing to tolerate exorbitantly priced poorly cooked buffet food to get a view of the lake this is your place.
Excellant sunset lake views. Reservations are a good idea espcially if you want a window seat. Great atmosphere. Service is impeccable. Food is definitely 5*. Puts me in the mind of the Navio at The Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay. If you want to make a great impression for that first or second date - this is the spot in South Shore!!
For an exhilarating experience, try the gondola ride. The ride lasts for about 12 minutes, taking you over two miles
(three kilometers) up the mountain. As you travel look out the windows for an amazing view of the ground ...
