I've played here all my life

My group of friends refer to Land Park as "the cradle" as in the cradle of sacramento golf....most of us have been playing here for well over 20 years. Nearly a week ever goes by when I don't stop for a "quick 9"....I know every inch of this place, so I'll tell you a bit about it.
Big fairways and small greens- you need to be able to get up and down and although the fairways are large missing them by just a bit will most likely put you in big tree trouble.
You can't warm up- the limited distance range here looks great...I would not really know-it was built for SAY golf and those taking lessons only....no big deal going off the first hole (a par 3) cold is part of the charm
The third hole is a great short par 3 with huge trees that grow together during the summer giving you the option of hitting it low underneath or going over the top...a severe green.... getting it on the surface does not gaurantee your par!
4th hole-my fav out here, slight dogleg right par 4 with a narrow long green...I've seen this hole just eat people up....If you drive it down the right side...even in the fairway your most likely dead....great hole.
6th hole-a drivable par 4...aim at the right trap and draw it...legitamate eagle chance, but par is still a good score
7th is a short par 3 that always seems to play club longer than you think, small green so hit it high to hold it
8th is the par 5...a draw up the center cuts off a bit of yardage and really makes getting there in two an option, just watch the two traps guarding the front of the green.
9th hole finishes a bit tougher than it looks....cut the ball over the fairway bunker and flip a wedge in, but if you miss left or right chances are you will have a tough time making par.
Truly we love this place, it's cheap, pretty, fun, laid back, challenging for all levels, easy to walk on....and a huge part of Sacramento golf history....Al Geiberger "Mr. 59" played here! If your from out of town stop by for a quick 9 to tune up for some of our "big" courses. I travel alot, and it's hard to beat Sacramento for year round playability and value when it comes to golf.
