K Street Mall
Starting at the fountains and grove of dwarf palms outside the Convention Center at 13th and K Streets, the mall extends six blocks west to the Downtown Plaza. Along the way there are two specialty movie theaters (Esquire IMAX and The Crest, a renovated repertory theater), diverse shops, bars, sidewalk cafes and restaurants. Through the years, artists have graced some of the old buildings with murals. A Regional Transit train periodically interrupts the life of the mall to pick up and drop off commuters and shoppers.
If you want to do some shopping in Downtown Sac, you're better off shopping in the Downtown Plaza. It's cleaner and provides more stores. In addition the atmosphere there is so much better. In addition there is plenty of parking under the mall.
Being an outdoors mall, it does not feel crowded and stuffy. If you hate going to most malls because of the atmosphere then you would love this mall. With the open air and cobblestone walkways, this mall is both pleasing to the eye and to the mind.

This style of "mall" is more-suited to a place with a more temperate climate. A place to visit in fair-weather seasons.
Since it is an outdoor mall, it isn't quite the bastion of commercialism Westfield's is known for producing. It's proximity to Old Sac and the urban downtown is a plus, as is the holiday ice rink out front. On the downside, there's only one major anchor store and the outdoor setting can be a bit hot in the summer / cold in the winter.
