River Otter Taxi Company, Sacramento

The little River Otter Taxi ride is a fun thing to do on the river on a hot day! I am a local, an have taken the ride by myself, and with friends, we all agree it is fun, good site seeing,cooler on the water than on land, and a good value, last year was $6. round trip. It is also a fun way to get to the restaurants upstream, and now that the hiway 5 will be under construction, maybe the easiest way to get to these river front restaurants, bars, and hotspots!

Last summer my three year old daughter and I took the "loop" ride after she got bored with the Jazz Festival. The captain was very informative and fun. I learned more about Sacramento and the river in an hour than the previous four years I lived here. My daughter had a fabulous time, and so did I. Earlier this summer I returned with out of town visitors and my 18 year old son. The captain didn't do any commentary, which was disappointing, but did answer a couple of questions. We had a great sushi dinner at the restaurant, and watched the fireworks from Raley Field on our return trip (the last scheduled of the day). Our captain delayed our return to the dock until the fireworks display was over, so we had a great view of the finale. A fun, reasonably priced trip. Highly recommended.
