This cozy pub features a variety of Irish ales and a decent sandwich menu. There is Guinness, of course and Caffrey's, Bass and several others on tap. The O'Mally's Amber, a distinctive micro brew with a touch of bitter and a smooth finish, is recommended. The sandwiches include a generous Philly cheese steak and various burgers. The corned beef and cabbage with red potatoes melts in your mouth. There is ESPN on the TV, a regulation pool table in the back room, and darts.

Friendly folks coping with Gold Rush Craze
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/25/07
When I first arrived in Sacramento after a five day drive across country, we ventured into Old Town Sacramento and found it was Gold Rush Days. We went into O'Mallys after hearing the zucchini fries were out of this world. The atmosphere everywhere was crazed, and inside O'Mallys it was quite busy. The service was a little slow, as it was incredibly busy, but the server was very friendly and apologetic. We drank Jameson's and GUINNESS (if you're going to complain about how they pour and serve their beer, you should at least know how to spell it!) the beers arrived, we ordered our food; we were promptly asked if we would like another round when we were finished our drinks, and the zucchini fries were great! The guy cooking the food was friendly and chatted with us while we waited about the madness around town that day. I would definately go back and enjoyed the food and the beer. This place is not pretentious at all.

Give me a break!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/27/04
Really, if you name your bar O'Mally's and serve Irish beer, then come on - you should take that little extra step and know how to store and serve the stuff. I was served the worst pint of guiness and Boddingtons I've ever had and was given attitude too!

It was Friday night and my first trip to Sacramento, I noticed O'Mally's so in we went. My first drink was a pint of Guiness, which took the bar tenderess 3 seconds to pour - she passed me a glass that had visibly about 1 inch of beer and the rest head. I stared, as the glass slowly settled, finally finishing with about 2/3 of a full glass - I asked her to top up my drink and she accused me of drinking some already! Jesus, give me a break, I hadn't even touched the glass yet. Once topped up I picked it up to find the beer was not even chilled.

Next I asked for Boddingtons, same story - she slapped down a terribly poured, semi-filled glass. I stared in diss-belief, I said "just so you know - this will need topping up too" now she was pissed - she grabbed my pint, tipped it down the drain, called me a 'prick' and walked away. I stood there jaw open, insulted & no beer. I asked if I had been rude in any way, she ignored me, I said please tell me what I did that deserved being called a prick? she then said "okay what do you want?" I said "a pint of Boddingtons", she said "that beer is no longer available" - whilst behind her the other bar tender was pouring the very beer. I started laughing, gathered my group together and left the bar.

The bar was busy - but no busier than any other pub. I have to say, the experience was ridiculous. To serve unchilled, badly poured beer, try to get away with only filling the glass 2/3 full and give attitude too is not acceptable.

If I could pick a catagory below poor I would - it was atrocious.
