I am proud to have been a bartender and cook there in the 70's and go back every time I go to Sacramento. It was a great place to be and to work. The food is excellent and inexpensive, the booze and beer top notch and cheap, and the staff are friendly. That is what the whole chain is about.
I enjoyed the regulars and the tourists alike. In the afternoon it is family-friendly, and nights are (were) "Fanny, bar the door!"
I worked the Penthouse most often. (The top bar is only open when the place is jammed.)
I liked cooking most. the one man kitchen operating at full-grill capacity and getting all the orders letter perfect was expected and accomplished as routine!
Fanny's is fun, unique and inexpensive. the food is delicious. go there!
