We dined at Sautee Trail Cafe tonight for our anniversary. There were a table of 4 already seated when we arrived, so the place wasn t busy. It took us 45 min. to get our order in and get our food served, and then it was nearly cold. The dark haired waitress was abserved licking her fingers to open a togo bag while she put up the order. Then she served our food without washing her hands. While we were eating this same waitress sat on the top of the small freezer the cook uses to place food plates for serving........................To say we won t be back is an understatement! This is the second time we have had issues with the same waitress not being clean about her actions around food. Too bad too, because this use to be a favorite place to eat.
Good country cookin!
Great food served in a log cabin! You will enjoy the rustic feel of this unique cafe' located on highway 17 between Clarkesville and Helen, Georgia. The parking lot is unpaved...nothing fancy, just good food! Great place for locals and tourist alike to share a meal in the beautiful Northeast Georgia mountains.
Seating is limited and there's usually a crowd, but rocking on the covered front porch is fine to wait your turn.
