On a side street which runs perpendicular to La Croisette, right behind Brasserie 72 and across from the Martinez hotel, is a famous spot for night owls, called La Chunga. Part restaurant and part piano bar, it seats 50 and stays open all night. Expect to pay EUR30.49-EUR45.74 à la carte.
If you want to feel that any night of the year, can be as much fun as your most fantasized fun-filled new year's eve, then go to La Chunga. I guarantee that you will forget all your worries and you will have such a great time, that you would really dream of going back there the first night you are back in Cannes next time. The musicians (especially Pierrot and Nicholas) have the ability to bring the best out of you, the service is excellent with professional, polite smiling but discreet waiters who cater to the customer's every need without being pushy, and the later in the night you go there strangely the ambiance is even better. So make sure you take a good nap the same afternoon before going there because you would not want to leave La Chunga at 3 a.am. It is definitely worth the money and especially the unforgettable time spent there and I would definitely recommend this place to friends who are generous and know about appreciating quality places. BRAVO LA CHUNGA.
This totally woderful place has class, yet you can really let your hair down after hours..
The food and service is great and the music is international.
You can rumba, get down with a little cheek to cheek, and throw in a belly dance.
It is a small place with big fun. I will again be there in September of this year.
