Description
Beside the River Plenty, this colonial estate was built in 1825 using bricks made by the convicts. The property contains many old buildings, which have mostly remained intact, including Redlands Cottage. Visitors can wander over two hectares of English style gardens or enjoy the excellent picnic and barbecue facilities. A self-guided tour through the grounds of Redlands Historic Site is available, but do not be surprised if one of the friendly farm pets tag along. If trout fishing is more your style, then try your luck in the Plenty River.
