It could hardly be called anything else. With sweeping views of the Derwent River, this little pub scores high on the quaintness factor of its architecture. Inside is a blazing log fire when the weather demands it, and a fully enclosed glass dining space to maximise the location. The marriage of cosy pub and classy dining space works well. Although the pub is open for long hours, lunch is not served on Saturdays. Dinner is available Monday to Saturday. Sunday brunch is very popular from 10.30am and it is advisable to book to ensure a table.

I simply loved my sister's local HQ when I came to visit this year from the UK. A lovely friendly pub, great service and fabulous freshly cooked gourmet meals. From the moment I walked in, my favourite glass of wine was instantly placed on the bar - and the Thursday night HQ table was reserved for the regular crew from the G.Y.G. gang. The views from the pub were breathtaking - a place to chill and dine with friends (day or night) during my visit that I will never forget. Many thanks to all from the Riverview who helped make my visit to Tasmania so perfect (just wish you could have fixed it for Auntie Mary to win the raffle!)
