Hollingworth Lake Country Park
Located in the picturesque foothills of the Pennines (a couple of miles north of Rochdale), outdoor-minded athletes will find a number of activities to keep them occupied at this popular water park. The lake provides a wide selection of water sports such as sailing, canoeing, kayaking, wind surfing and power boating, while for land-lovers, there are plenty of opportunities for hill walking and climbing along with a visitor's center on site for information and souvenirs.
When the weather is good you don't get a better day out than Hollingworth Lake. Hidden between Rochdale and Littleborough is a large expanse of water surrounded by quaint little treats. From the old curio style shoppe to the small amusement arcade, the boats on the lake to the Italian restaraunt, the fish & chip shop or the Captains Table, the "Fish" public house or the wild life visitors centre it's all here.
