Lounge Ten

Description

Located on a quiet side street off Deansgate, Lounge Ten offers extravagant surroundings and a new concept in French cuisine – amouse-bouche, or things to make your mouth happy. This a unique take on tapas but with a distinctly gallic flavour, created by well-known local chef Francis Carroll. Over 3 floors the decor is decidedly flamboyant, with lavish crystal chandeliers, ornate Grecian pillars, rich crimson ceilings and an elegant wrought-iron spiral staircase. Dishes include classics like eggs benedict at around £8 or more unusual and exotic choices such as beef fillet with quails eggs and chunks of sea bass with fennel for £10. With a beautiful range of desserts - all at £5 - and an excellent wine list, this is definitely one of the city's most talked-about new restaurants.

fantastic hen party
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/05
we had the most amazing night for my daughters hen party at lounge ten.I can only think that the 21st party were VERY unlucky!! Our party took place on the top floor with our own special waiter for the night -and boy was he great. So was the "crooner" the magic man and the fortune teller. The food was fantastic as was the supply of drink. The ambience was very seductive and quite erotic in parts-but what a talking point for our party of the young and the more mature. An extremely friendly place with other diners joining in with our party and having a good time.I would have no problems in recommending this venue as "a special treat" go on and enjoy!!!! Very grateful mum of the hen!!!

The best in manchester
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/17/05
after 4 visits to the wonderful Lounge Ten i can say its the most enjoyable restaurant experience i've had in manchester. The decor and setting is opulent and romantic but the warm, down-to-earth service and classic crooner (late week only) make this a great group venue where glorious food (small portions enable lots of courses)and unprententious staff will make your visit a real treat and lots of fun.

Lounge Ten - what a disappointment!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/15/04
After hearing such wonderful things about top celeb hang out Lounge Ten, I awaited my sister's 21st birthday celebrations with anticiptation. It had taken so much planning and careful research on my father's part in finding this so called exquisite restaurant, we were certain that it was going to be the most fantastic evening. The table was booked four months in advance, exactly to specification- it had to be a table for eight on the middle floor. Finally, the big day arrived. The venue is guarded by hefty, uninviting bouncers, one is then greeted by unwelcoming staff, who do not even offer to take your coat. Whilst your party waits to be seated, those on the 7.30 seating, are quickly told to drink up and sling their hook. Then, although you booked your middle floor table 4 months ago, you are then told that a party of 35 takes precedent over your once in a life time 21st birthday party, and your small party of people are shoved down stairs on 2 tables which do not cater for 8 people as they are 2 tables that are in fact booths so in effect half of your party of 8 can barely even see each other, never mind have a conversation or toast your big day. If you actually have the bare faced cheek to complain about these poor conditions for which you are paying the priveledge of more than £50 per head, the staff have never heard of the idiom that the customer is always right, and swiftly dismiss you from the restaurant. I have never been treated by any restaurant in such a rude, arrogant and abrupt manner in my entire life. We all felt bitterly disappointed, but my sister's 21st party was absolutely destroyed by these horrible people. While there are so many fantastic reviews, praising this restaurant for its food and entertainment, I can only say that the service is abysmal, and I shall not be paying a repeat visit. Extremely disappointing.
