Tate Gallery

Liverpool's Tate Gallery is the northern connection to the world-renowned Tate Gallery in London and the lesser-known St Ives Tate. Situated at the Albert Dock , the gallery boasts the city's largest contemporary art collection, with many temporary exhibitions aiming to challenge aspects of social or personal thought. The building itself is well planned and subtle enough to disappear behind the art, yet still provides a pleasant atmosphere in which to spend an afternoon. There is a well-stocked gift shop on the ground floor and the Taste Restaurant provides great food. Admission is free.
