This was awesome!

This was my first time on horseback and the cowboys we had were awesome, especially Bobby. The staff was good about putting my group on our horses and mules (I had a mule), teaching me how to "steer," and teaching me things along the way.
Between the experience of having control over this animal to the excellent views, I was torn between looking up (at red rock) and looking down at Maggie (my mule) and the landscape. Our ride was only an hour, but I wished it had been all day.
As I told Bobby when we were finished, this was one of the coolest experiences of my life (I'm 38 and a city kid). I would definately recommend this to anyone that is interested in riding, or anyone that likes to look at scenery.
I came away from this experience with a new respect for real cowboys, and a new love for horses and mules. While I was originally somewhat disappointed at being put on a mule, I learned that mules are a little more "sure-footed" than horses, and soon came to enjoy watching Maggie's big ears twitch every now and then on the ride.
I certainly plan to return when my children are all old enough to ride.
If you are new to riding, or simply want to seem some beautiful scenery with some knowledgable cowboys, I encourage you to visit--this was awesome.
