Encompassing Fremont Street in the center of downtown Las Vegas is a light and musical show like none other in the world. A permanent canopy has been constructed to cover the casino-lined street with two million lights and a state-of-the-art sound system. This USD70 million attraction provides shows in the evening hours and is a popular area for filming motion picture scenes. There is no charge for entrance except for their New Year's Eve Street Bash . The special shows projected on the canopy ceiling last for approximately seven minutes.

Fremont Experience
By Lori, 01/31/10
I have been to Vegas twice before. Once with 2 gf's and once with my husband. Both times we stayed on the strip. We went to downtown and to the Fremont experience and wish we had stayed in the downtown area. It was great. The old town atmosphere, everything is closer together and it was just a better feel. We are going back for our 10th anniversary and Valentine's Day, 2010 and plan on staying in El Cortez. The first hotel there, originally owned by Bugsy Seigal! Can't wait!

Definitely a must see

I love Freemont. I have been there two other times and will be going back in March. I look forward to going to see the light show and most of all people watch.

First time on Fremont Street
By Katie, 10/17/09
I came here for my 21st birthday with my parents. We went to fremont street to check it out and meet up with some other relatives. This was the only place I won money so therefore my favorite place. Me and my mom also took pole dance lessons at Pole Worx which was a blast.

First Time in Vegas & Fremont Street
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/09
Of the many highlights of Vegas, Fremont Street was one of the best. The light show & music was great. We loved the little shops on Fremont Street. Very good meal at the Bay CIty DIner in the Golden Gate Hotel. Fremont is a definite must see when in Vegas. * * * * * H Smith

Thanks, But No Thanks-Couldn't Wait to Leave!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/09
This place was dirty. It's the only place I have ever been where there are hundreds of elderly folks hooked up to oxegyn tanks while smoking cigarettes (yikes!). And the "showgirls" looked like they worked the main strip about twenty years ago. The few hotels I entered smelled stale, the souvenier shops were dusty and one that I went into smelled like a toilet. The light show was OK but not a big deal. And the bus to get there took you through some very scary parts of town. Call me a HOTEL SNOB if you like, but give me the MGM any day of the week. At least there I felt safe!!!!! I am heading to LV next week and will be @ the Mirage. I have no plans to visit Fremont Street (unless I am forceable dragged kicking and screaming).

My Experience on Fremont Street
By realme38, 10/05/09
I work for a major airline so I love to travel. Fremont Street in Las Vegas was exciting at night, lively during the day and just as much to see and enjoy as the Vegas Strip....just alot cheaper. The shows were fun and well done, food was plenty and very good. People were friendly and helpful at hotels and casinos, plenty of coupons and specials to help with cost of trip. Which honestly was one of the least expensive trips I have done in a long time. The only thing I can tell anyone is at night....stay on Fremont its well lit and safe for whole family. Enjoy your next trip to Vintage Vegas.

Going to Vegas for the 5th time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/18/09
I have been to Vegas four times now. Twice we stayed on the Strip and twice on Fremont Street. We love staying downtown! The walking is great... very short compared to walking between casinos on the Strip. It is so easy to hop on the Deuce and go to the Strip if you are wanting to see the big casinos. You get to sight-see at the same time! Last time we stayed at the Las Vegas Club. The rooms were ok... they were very cheap. We didn't stay in them much anyway... we were there to gamble, so we spent more time in the casinos. We are staying downtown again. We are trying the Fitz this time. I'm sure it will be a blast again.
