Fremont Street Experience

Description

Encompassing Fremont Street in the center of downtown Las Vegas is a light and musical show like none other in the world. A permanent canopy has been constructed to cover the casino-lined street with two million lights and a state-of-the-art sound system. This attraction provides shows in the evening hours and is a popular area for filming motion picture scenes. There is no charge for entrance except for their New Year's Eve Street Bash. The special shows projected on the canopy ceiling last for approximately seven minutes.

Fun
By Stevo, 4/18/12
Everytime I go to Vegas I go to Fremont Street. It is as safe as you can be anywhere you go. Atmosphere is great & even did the zip line. It is a blast. Although it was a little chilly in December. Also, Vegas P.D are on top of it there I saw two Bike Cops pull over a suped up 4x4 for speeding at the intersection the guy only got 1/4 block away when they got um. Great little stores to get stuff for the people you left behind at home and I have been more sucessful at the tables there too. Have fun and go to Fremont Street!

WOW!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/29/11
On the last night of our trip we took a night tour of Vegas which made our last stop at Fremont Street. We arrived at 10 and left at 11:15. All I can say is WOW.........How fun and exciting it was. If I had known about it we would have gone for a whole evening! The entertainment, the people, the lights........It was just so exciting and fun! I took my 15 yr old grandson who had his video camera running the whole time. We both enjoyed Fremont St so much that we would like to go back just to spend an evening there. Go if you're in Vegas........Go in the evening and just enjoy enjoy enjoy!

forget the strip, downtown is the best!
By Rebecca, 10/27/11
Fremont Street Experience was great! I found the Strip to be too overwhelming for me- too much of everything- so downtown is a welcome change of atmosphere. I highly recommend the ziplines, walking around the lovely Golden Nugget, the Neon Museum and just chilling to the sights and sounds of the Fremont Street Experience. Plenty of fun without spending a fortune.

I Loved Fremont Street. Our first time going to Vegas we stayed on the strip. What a joke. The stained carpets and burns in the furniture not for me.The second time we stayed at Elcortez the cabanna rooms, retro, cool, loved it. Great deals and wonderful food. Staff was always nice, helpful. Thanks Elcortez

Had such a fantastic time
By Puupilo, 8/7/11
I have lived in Las Vegas for 18 years now and have seen and done it all. No more Strip for me. Downtown is just way too much fun. Went last night for the Loverboy concert. Just fantastic. So much fun and great music. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. Stayed at the Four Queens. Excellent value. Nice, clean room and in the heart of it all. Had dinner at Magnolia's Veranda. Excellent service . ( Thank you Katrina ) Excellent food. Didn't win any money but got so much play I was happy. I don't expect to win. I know better. Just give me some play for my money and it's all good. That's just what I got. There was 8 of us and we all had a fantastic time. I was down on Fremont Street with friends from Montana on St. Patrick's Day also. We had a blast. It was the highlight of their trip. No more Strip for them. Downtown is where it's at. And if you just enjoy "people watching", you'll see it all here. Thanks for a great weekend.

Very DISAPPOINTED with THE GOLDEN NUGGET
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/27/11
Our first stop was @ The Orleans for 3 days.Great place to stay and everyone was very friendly. The last of our long planned out vacation and dream stay was @ "THE GOLDEN NUGGET". One of those places WE had always thought would be a great place to stay! WOW were we WRONG.Not only were they not that friendly, EVERYTHING was at an additional costs. yea I get it-IT'S VEGAS,but our visit was going to be for 5 nights there and we thought a room fridge would be a nice idea, but not for an ADDITIONAL 20.00 A NIGHT! ( we paid that for the 3 nights @ Orleans). The CABANAS were not Quite worth the $175.00. a few crackers and pieces of cheese! and 6 bottles of H20...and we had 4 ppl in our group but, only 2 lounge chairs were included. If we wanted, we could have rented 2 more, for $20.00 more each chair! those were sooo close together they might as well have them stacked atop each other. no leg room to even get in between them. The pool was very crowded. We decided to upgrade our room and the only thing that got bigger was the TV. and glad I'm not a coffee drinker, that was another $10.00 had we of drank any! I guess that was the up grade! Over all it was VERY DISAPPOINTING and I love the whole Fremont Experience, NOT SO MUCH A FAN OF "THE GOLDEN NUGGET"..It was quite the let down for having waited so long to stay at a place that gets the "HYPE". and just another FYI- put both names on your rooms when checking in! My room key wouldnt work and they would NOT issue me another one even though the name was the same as my husbands, my name wasn't on the room itself sooo, He had to get a new key! I'm just glad he didn't decide to take a day trip somewhere with one of the other couples we had gone with or I wouldn't have ANY access to my room. All in All I won't stay there again any time soon.! I have visited Vegas for the past 28 years and that was the worse place I have stayed....I Blame the corporate GREED VEGAS has turned into. I will continue to visit VEGAS as I always have a great time there and always have something to do! FREMONT is the funnest place with all the entertainment along the street.!

IT'S AS MUCH FUN AS YOU MAKE IT
By larry, 5/1/11
Fremont street for me is a blast, there are are fair amount of homless and panhandlers but a simple no will do,there just part of what makes it dirty vegas.there is a ton of security bike and foot and all are with in a few feet at all times.the casinos are much better gambling then on the strip, the shows are cheesy and fun, thelight show i can do or not do,if i;m crossing between casinos and it's happening i might stop and watch.cheep or free drinks.people seem to forget that the nugget is a 4 star hotel right square in the middle of the really old hotels.get the fifty dollar upgrade and on most nights you can get a nice suite for around 80.00 a night.they will give you food vouchers and gambling vochers worth about 400.00 with the upgrade well worth it.as i did live in vegas for a few years, stay on the fremont street expirance do not cross over las vegas blvd as within a few blocks you will hit skid row.

AWESOME FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE!!!
By Leticia, 3/17/11
My Husband, Daughter (28yrs. young) & I have been to Las Vegas 4 TMES & we'll be going there AGAIN in May 2011-GOD WILLING!. We've been to LAS VEGAS in Oct.22-28,2004(we drove straight thru took us 1&1/2 days), Dec.14-21,2007, Sept.19-26,2009, Oct. 12-14,2010. FREMONT STREET IS EXCITING TO SEE! We have seen 3 different light shows at the various visits we've been on. THE WHOLE BLOCK OF FREMONT IS THE PLACE TO GO FOR FUN, DANCING ON THE STREET, THE CASINOS, GREAT FOOD & FOOD BARGAINS, LOW COST DRINKS, & THE VARIOUS VENDORS! The people you meet there is GREAT! LAS VEGAS ITSELF IS AWESOME!So to those of you that rated a 1 you must of been in some sort of mood when you were there to have not had an AWESOME TIME. Some of my Hubby's friends are going there because they saw the video from my camera & were sold on going there. Never mind the people that are passing out the Porn Pics-JUST DON'T put your hand out, as for the Panhandlers-It's YOUR choice respond or not!!! We'll need to make our way over to downtown area to see about what the other reviews that have been posted here.
