Desert Fox Tours, Las Vegas

My wife, my mother-in-law and our two kids (9 and 11) just recently went on tour with Desert Fox to the Grand Canyon. The experience was suprisingly amazing. The trip was fantastic and relaxing and Richard, OUR driver, was just top notch. He was informative and accommodating. The reason we call him OUR driver instead of THE driver is because of the type of service he gave us. The reservation desk did tell us that this tour would be different from other companies and it was. We worked the numbers out and Desert Fox was about $30 higher, but we decided to give them a shot. Richard picked us up in a Cadillac Escalade that was fully loaded. They also surprised us with a wonderful gift basket filled with different goodies and snacks. The Escalade had a bunch of DVD screens that we can play movies with. We popped in one of our kid's Disney movie and there were wireless headphones for the kids. So my wife and I chatted with the driver at no disturbance from our kids...this is already a plus! Richard also informed us that this is our vacation. We should relax and enjoy the scenary. He said that if we wanted to take pictures or make a pit stop anywhere just let him know. LOL about an hour into the tour i took him on that offer and jokingly said i want to get some ice cream for my kids. In about 8 mins tops, he stopped by a minimart and said we can stop here and use the amenities and pick up some ice cream for the kids. I was impressed...this is what i call affordable luxury. Well to make a long journey short, we got to the Canyon in style. My wife and her mom were impressed and glowing. We saw all the other people get off the big tourbuses or regular vans and being cattle herded to their destination. Richard was there guiding us. He gave us great pointers and which attractions we should try out. There was no time pressure at the different points. We knew that the tour lasted 9-10 hours, but we were really glad that we chose what we wanted to see in that time frame. On the way back, I wanted to stop by the Hoover Dam and get an evening photo. He found a great spot and we took a nice family photo. Definitely one memorable adventure and the definition of what a vacation should be. Through all the conversing, Rich showed us another side of Las Vegas we thought only the high rollers experienced. He went the extra mile with us and for that we will definitely come back and try something else with them. For all you other travelers out there, make sure you tip your drivers well for a job well done. Richard is one of those guys. Definitely worth the money. Don't be fooled by low prices ask what you are getting. ~James H.
