Mandalay Bay Wedding Chapels
This venue at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino offers two wedding chapels, both with floor to ceiling French windows, chandeliers and soft, muted tones. You may choose the Sunrise Chapel or the Sunset Chapel, facing east and west, respectively. Each chapel can seat at least 50 guests. Basic ceremonies include limo transportation to and from the marriage license bureau and more. Packages, including videos, photography, floral services and receptions are also available. Rates depend on the amenities you choose to have included with your ceremony.
Our overall experience was positive. We choose the Crystal Waters package on a Sunday. The Reverend Rudy Aguila was outstanding and he gave a short surmon/speech that was appropriate and well taken by all. The wedding selection process could have been stream-lined had it been available online, not by fax.
We used Jenna Lee's services to press and clean my wife's dress and my suit. They were expensive but well worth it. They come to the hotel and pick-up your items and drop them off either the same day or whatever your needs are. We ordered our wedding cake from the Chocolate Swann in Mandalay Bay shops in between the Luxor and Mandalay Bay. It was by far the best cake we have ever had. We had a small cake made just for us to enjoy later that evening, but our guests enjoyed the desserts at The Rum Jungle.
We had 18 attendees, and choose The Rum Jungle for our reception. The Rum Jungle was ideal for such a small group. The service and food was outstanding. We had an open bar and open menu and it cost $2100, and that was with an additional $100 tip above the standard 18%. It was well worth the money and the food and drinks were great.
The wedding coordinator is key to insure all of your selections have been updated and emailed to you. I don't recommend Alyssa Estrada, as she is nice but very unorganized with poor follow through skills. My wife and I would call asking for Alyssa and she wouldn't return our calls for days if not weeks. She would promise to send an email and either not send it at all or days later.
Fortunatly for us, Aida was there to assist my wife and insure she got exactly what she requested. I highly recommend Aida, as she even called us 4 days after the wedding to follow-up with us. We relectantly tipped Alyssa 15% because we felt obligated, but I suggest not making the same mistake we did.
We highly recommend THE chapel. We would even consider going back in 10/20/30 years and renewing our vows.
We got married on 7/21/07. We had about 50 guests. It happened to be the day of a big fight, so that was horrible as the casino was more packed than normal (we checked prior to booking our wedding package and nothing was scheduled), so a few of our guests were late as they were shuttling people over in buses as there was no parking left at mandalay bay hotel. I had my hair and makeup done in the hotel salon. Both turned out perfect, but pricy.
The chapel was gorgeous and the flowers were absoultelty breathtaking. The photos we received were ok, nothing to brag about. There are only a few we really liked. I remember posing for pictures and saying this pose is not normal, I dont feel right. My advise is if it does not feel right, tell the photographer you do not want to pose like that.
The wedding coordinator that worked with us that day was horrible. I was waiting in the bridal room for the ceremony to start and my husband was late (he was thinking it starts at 4pm, he will show at 4pm). The wedding coordinator kept coming into the bridal room asking where my groom was (3 different times over the course of 15 minutes). I was so nervous in general, I actually thought to myself I guess this is not going to happen. She also yelled at my flower girls and they were crying in the pictures we took after the ceremony. After we were done with the pictures, they wanted us to meet the next day to pick out the pictures we wanted. Advise: they will offer you stuff (copyright to cd of pics, frames, addl photos), say "no" and they then will say, how about 1/2 off.
Afterwards, we had our reception at Rum Jungle and I highly recommend this place. The food was amazing, the drinks were flowing, and the service was excellent. The liquor bill was more than we thought it was, but no complaints. Our reception ended at 8ish and we walked over to the "Kitty Club"--close to Rum Jungle. We all partied there until 2am. Played great music, excellent atmosphere.
Overall, had an amazing day and I highly recommend the Mandalay Bay Hotel for a wedding and reception. The wedding packages are perfect for people who do not want to spend tons of money on their wedding and there is not alot of planning involved, which I liked. They do it all for you!
My husband and I got married at the Mandalay Bay Wedding Chapel on June 5th 2007. It was absolutely fantastic, everything was perfect. We had a small group, only 7 including my husband and I, but we were really looked after. We chose the diamond lights package and it was worth every penny.
Our wedding co-ordinator, Ada, was really helpful and answered all our questions. We are from England and had never been to Las Vegas before so we were quite worried about how the day would go but Ada really put our minds at ease.
The chapel itself is stunning, really grand but modern, it over looks the lagoon area. The ceremony was lovely, the minister very sincere and the pianist played our choice of songs beautifully. The flowers were really pretty and our photos amazing. I would really recommend the 1 hour up-grade photography, you can get photos taken anywhere in the hotel, ours were so good that we bought all of them with the copyright. It would have broken our hearts to leave any behind, it costs quite a bit extra but it really is worth it- you only do it once.
We had our wedding reception at Aureole, it truly is the best restaurant in Vegas- so elegant and the wine tower is amazing.
All the little extras you get with the Diamond Lights package are great. We got a champagne meal for 2 at Shanghai Lily- it was the best Chinese meal I have ever tasted. I had a facial at the gorgeous Spa Mandalay, it was so relaxing. We had an upgrade from the Honeymoon Suite to an even better one and it was just fabulous.
The Mandalay Bay is a very special hotel, from the beautiful pool/beach area to its restaurants and casino, no expense has been spared in building this paradise hotel and it shows.
If you are thinking about having your wedding at Mandalay Bay DO IT!!! The hospitality is second to none and we just could not have got that anywhere in England- no matter what the price. It truly was the perfect day in the perfect place.
My husband and I were married at the Mandalay Bay chapel May 30, 2007. We are very happy with our decision because the place was so nice. The wedding went without a hitch, the minster and photographer were excellent. Our limo driver was an hour late to pick us up to get our marriage license but I don't believe that was the chapel's fault. I do think they should look into hiring a different limo service since it seems to happen frequently. I never met my wedding coordinator but Rochelle who works at the front desk there at the chapel took great care of us. I definately recommend the Mandalay Bay if you are going to get married in Vegas. You won't regret it!!
My now husband and myself got married at THE Wedding Chapel at Mandalay Bay in Sept. 2006...what an amazing experience. Our every wish was accommodated and every detail was absolutely perfect! I disagree with the other reviewer, if you check out wedding packages along the strip, you will pay twice as much and get half the value! Mandalay Bay knows what they are doing, the Platinum Skies package is perfect! The photos were amazing, back in Dallas the pictures included in our wedding package would have cost as much as the entire Platinum Skies package at Mandalay Bay!
If you are thinking about it...do it, it will be a day you'll never forget and WITHOUT STRESS!!!
It all started out so hopeful--good luck for the marriage. The W/C was so friendly and seemingly helpful, but the signs were all there. First she messed up fiancee's name in emails and paperwork. Harmless mistake, right? With only 1 1/2 months to plan, coordinator sat on floral upgrades (given 3 weeks prior) until 4 days before ceremony...$500 surprise bill. The bill had charges for flowers at 3x prices stated in contract. What, it's your paperwork??? Arranged to discuss with coordinator and florist both of whom backed out. Eventually, Manager called to agree to contract's pricing 2 days before wedding. Was assured by email and phone that white flowers at front of chapel could be removed. Guess what, the flowers were still there. Here's the KICKER...WE ARE NOT MARRIED!!! We were just notified by Marriage Bureau that the Rev never filed the paper work! He says they've been trying to get in contact with us. Hmmm, no emails, phone messages, letters. All in all, not confidence inspiring.
Pat and I picked Mandalay Bay to get married at because of the picture in the travel agent's book. The white sandy beach and multiple palm trees said "exquisite" to us. We got married in the new chapel (as part of the THE Hotel). The atmosphere was contemparay and elegant. Throughout the process of arranging "our day" the staff was terrific! They answered all questions and were flexible with their ceremony and requests. The day of the wedding, the coordinator was calming and efficient. She met my multiple needs of a nervous bride. The minister was sincere and eloquent. The pictures were amazing. The pianist, the flowers, the ambiance, was exact. As emotions run high during a wedding, ours went off without a glitch due to the staffs effective skills and excellent coordination.
My applauds to Mandalay Bay as we NEVER saw another couple getting picutures done, preparing for their wedding...nothing. It really felt like OUR DAY. Friends of ours had gotten married at Flamingo and another couple at the Excalibur months before us, and all said they felt rushed and not special.
The only negative issue with Mandalay Bay is the service at restaurants. We had problems with the Bay Side Buffet (where we had our reception at). There was a lack of communication between the staff who do the bookings and the person running the show. My now husband and I had never travelled prior to arriving in Las Vegas for our wedding.
Mandalay Bay is an exquisite choice, based upon our experience. In addition, as our wedding was there we got the honeymoon suite at a discounted rate for as long as we stayed at the hotel. The price for the wedding and pictures was a little more costly than most hotels in vegas...but you only do this once and we did it all the way.
If you get married at Mandalay Bay be prepared to spend extra on pictures as what is included in the packages is not sufficient...trust us! The beach was gorgeous and the atmosphere was perfect. We would not stay at the Mandalay Bay Hotel again in Vegas as it is sooo far away from everything, which left us walking lots or paying for cabs. It definitley is a good place for honeymooners, because if you want to take it easy there's plenty to do around you and the crowds weren't bad at all!
