Lance Burton Theater
Exceptionally beautiful, this theater is located at the Monte Carlo Hotel . The 1,274-seat venue features a main floor, mezzanine and balcony. The lobby has a full-service bar and the theater seats have drink holders for your convenience. The theater is named for Lance Burton, the master illusionist who performs his magic while taking you on a theatrical journey.
My wife and I have been to Las Vegas 4 times, and have seen Lance Burton 3 of those times. Lance Burton is without a doubt one of the best acts in Vegas. Lance's act has an "Old Vegas" feel, but is true grand illusion. The Lance Burton Theater is laid out in such a way that you have a good view no matter where you sit, and for such a big time show, the value can't be beat. $67 for some seats, $72 for others. Lance's show is paced so well that there is never a dull moment, and he also brings kids onstage for some close-up magic, and one grand illusion. But don't worry, those segments fit in well with the rest of the show. Lance's charm, professionalism, and enthusiasm has been the same everytime we've seen him as if he never gets tired of doing what he does. He even takes time during the show to say hello to a few people in the audience. For our first wedding anniversary, I arranged for Lance to wish my wife and I a Happy Anniversary from the stage! (No, it did not cost extra). One year we paid $97 to see David Copperfield at the Hollywood Theater in the MGM Grand and believe me, Lance's show was better. Even Lance's intermission entertainer, juggler Michael Godeau, was great. He was funny, and very skilled. He was no simple throwaway act. This year we will be going to Vegas with first timers, and scored front row center seats (YAY!). If you love pure entertainment, make Lance Burton a priority.
This was the first magic show I had ever been to in Vegas and was not disappointed. The show was about an hour and a half and it really didn't have any dull moments. Almost every trick or illusion he did we just dropped our jaw and exclaimed, "how did he do that?" Well worth the price, which is relatively inexpensive by Vegas show standards ($70 for 8 rows back from stage)
