Blue Man Group, Las Vegas

My wife and I were in Las Vegas for 3 days in early August 2008. One of the night activities was to see a performance. The Blue Man group had great reviews and the marketing material looked very interesting. If I can be honest this performance was the worse performance I have ever seen in my life time. I am 46 years old and my wife is 43. We see shows frequently in our travels; which are stateside, cruise lines, and overseas locations. This show had no substance and was truly meant for kids fewer than 21. I found myself looking at the audience and noticed the only people showing interest was teenagers. After the show we talked to others in our age group and they said the same thing; poor acting, waist of a ticket $100 person, and time. I would never recommend this to anyone. If I could give advice to make this show interesting I would not let these Blue guys beat and beat and beat and beat whatever they could get their hands on but use different sounds of the ages. They attempted this for 5 minutes but the rest of show was loud/boring/not funny. I would have added better comedic material as well. I found them disgusting at some points. To be very honest I could teach my 3 teenagers to do exactly what they did. Their wasn’t real talent other than the beating of the drums; which went on FOREVER!!!! Sincerely, AJ

I really wish I could write an elaborate review to do this group justice, but I just can't! The visuals were amazing, the music incredible... The whole show is designed to explore human innocence and celebrate the human spirit. It was entertaining enough to see and share reactions with others in the audience. Wonderful!

As a local here in Vegas I try to see every show once. I just got back from this show and loved it! The only thing I can say about those writing negative reviews is that they aren't researching this show before they go. This is NOT cirque! The photos of three bald men with blue heads should key you in. The show is silly, fun, and the audience had a great time. The best advice I can give is to browse the internet and watch clips -- even though the clips do not show all the fun one really has. It is a great show and I think if you go expecting something completely different than the rest of the fancy shows on the strip you will love it!

The Blue man Group show was the second best thing I did in Vegas this trip ...(I re-married my Wife the day after). Thanks for a great stag party blue men!

FELT VERY DISAPPOINTED AFTER THIS SHOW BEING RATES AS 1 OF THE BEST IN VEGAS ! PLEASE, IS THIS A JOKE ??? NEVER SAW A SHOW AS BAD AS THIS ONE.... IS IT FUNNY TO BE GIVEN SOME TOILET PAPER TO PUT OVER YOUR HEAD ? WHAT ARE THESE BLUE GUYS DOING ALL THE SHOW. I SUPPOSE THEY ARE LAUGHING A LOT WITH US !! PAYING THAT LOT OF MONEY FOR A FEW BLUE GUYS MAKING FUN OF US ? DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS SHOW. RATHER GO TO CIRQUE DU SOLEIL WORTH EVERY CENT ! DEFINITIVELY THE BLUE MAN GROUP IS THE WORST SHOW IN VEGAS .........

My vacation was the BEST thanks to the Venetian having The Blue Man Group there. It was the first time I saw them & it won't be the last !!!!

Laughed until it actually hurt!! Would recommend it to everyone. Wasn't sure what to expect, but not what we saw. Absolutely no way to describe it beyond hilarious. Would see it again and again.

I always asked people what kind of a show this was, and all they would say is " You gotta watch it for yourself". And now i know why. Its high energy music, coupled with silly jokes, coupled with audience interaction coupled with a whole lotta fun. Its a must see if you're there on the weekend. And yeah if its a birthday or wedding anniversary, you can talk to the show organizers and tell them to wish your friend/lover/wife/whoever. Thgey'll do it during the show and the whole crowd wishes you. its kinda cool. My girlfriend absolutely loved it. But then , show me someone who doesnt love the Blue Man group.

This show demonstrates an unfortunate aspect of present day American culture (or lack of it). It's success depends on a hyped-up mix of excessively loud drumming with exceedingly bright inappropriate use of light simply to attempt simulation of an audience that expects to be entertained. The show is overly sensationalized and shows no talent. Inserting a fiber optic camera in the mouth of a person from the audience is an example of the use of sensational material to shock the audience in the absence of any talent.

Totally disappointed with the show in August 2006 at the Venetian. The show is not funny or entertaining but is very loud, mostly pounding on drums by the Blue Men. I would not go again if it was free. Neither me, my wife or my 13 or 17 daughters enjoyed the show. I do not understand what people would like about the show?
