Aureole, Las Vegas

The food was good, one person in my party complained about every dish he ordered but he had it in his mind that it wasn't a good place to eat because of the more recent reviews he'd read on the internet. The best thing I had was the augratin potatoes with blue cheese that came with the ribeye. Too bad there wasn't more of those! I love creme brulee so I ordered the special which was half vanilla and half mocha creme brulee with a pistachio cookie on top each. These desserts were very tiny. I couldn't really taste the mocha flavor in that part of the dessert, it was more like chocolate pudding. The food was good, just probably not $110 for 1 meal good. The service was good, we had no problems there. I am disappointed that Frommer's gave this place 3 stars, I think they should go back and re-evaluate this place. Frommer's is usually pretty accurate. I was hoping for the best that Vegas had to offer. I hope this wasn't it. The restrooms were very strange, they were very dark so you can't very well check out your make-up and the sink looked like something you might find at a roadside rest area. I expected something a bit more high-end from a place like this.
