This was the WORST place I have EVER been to
The restaurant is very scenic, but the food is horrible.
The waiter filled our glasses with water that tasted like a dirty dishrag, that was our first indicator... There was very little selection that looked appetizing...
We ordered Lobster Bisque and Coconut Shrimp appetizer that was frozen fried shrimp with some coconut sprinkled on top. They first delivered our appetizer to the wrong table and gave us an extra Lobster Bisque before we got the right order.
The waiter recommended the most expensive item on the menu, at $50 a plate, the Lobster Thermidor. The way the waiter spoke of the history of this dish and how wonderful it was with tarragon and cream etc...my husband and I were both stupid enough to order the same thing.
When the dish arrived, my husband took 2 bites and said, "I'm so sorry but I can't eat this", I tried it.. there was saffron, there was 5 spice, there was absolute strangeness from top to bottom....I forced myself to eat it because I wasn't going to pay $100 for two plates of uneaten food.
I looked for the waiter who darted his eyes my way a couple of times but never appeared again....some bus boy gave us our check.... I tried to motion to a manager who kind of nodded and disappeared too...
At this point, we had Penn and Teller tickets and had to go.....we paid the exuberant amount for such vomit and left. After the show we went to the Paris and had a real dinner which was great and I then I won $300 in the slots, at least we paid for our dinners!
