This is the place to impress your date by making her feel exquisitely pampered. The lady is presented with a rose upon entering this fine eatery at the Four Queens Hotel. Ask for a curtained booth if you wish total privacy. The menu is delightful, providing an outstanding selection of steaks, poultry and seafood dishes. The chicken dishes are excellent, and the steaks are incredibly seasoned with crushed peppercorns. The restaurant offers one of the best wine lists in town with prices ranging from moderate to expensive.
What I liked about Hugo's was the service and the extras that others charge for and Hugo's didn't. Our wait staff was on top of everything and they made our experience near perfect. The salad cart, palate cleansing lemon sorbet and chocolate covered fruit desert were all nice touches without any extra charge. We had the "hot rock" appetizer and the chateau briand and lobster tail for two. Hot rock great. Chateau briand great. One lobster tail great - the other not so good - tasted mushy. The rose was a nice touch. The price was fair. Would recommend.
Hugo's is rated as one of the best rest runts, fine dining, romantic... yada yada yada. Well I was not impressed. While the setting is nice, and the staff very friendly the food wasn't great. We went on a Monday night (thinking it'd be slower) and the place was packed. We had reservations so we got in quickly. The setting was nice, but the tables were packed so tightly that you were literally inches away from the people next to you. It was VERY loud, not exactly the romantic setting we were hoping for. There were customers dining in very casual attire (shorts and golf shirts), stark contrast to our cocktail attire. Our server was very attentive to begin with, but mid way through the meal service began to get slow. We went a good 15 minutes with empty wine glasses. The table side salad was nice, but when our main course finally arrived it was sub standard for fine dining. My veal was over cooked and his steak was VERY fatty (over half was inedible). We were hoping for a romantic fine dining experience and ended up with an overpriced sub quality meal in an overcrowded under dressed atmosphere.
Great atmosphere and great service combine with excellent food to make any dinner at Hugo's memorable. From freshly prepared salad (prepared at your table) to the complimentary chocolate dipped fruit, any occasion is a celebration.
This place rocks!
I have been going here for 17 years and never get tired of the food or service. Steaks are the best here, and the salad cart is a great start.
You get sorbet to clear your pallet before your main course and freash chocolate dipped fruit after.
The night at Hugo's started out promising. They handed my wife a rose and then we sat down. Service started out great. We placed our order. As our first course arrived, the table behind us started talking very loud. The man was using very vulgar language. Sometime in the middle of the meal the man started comparing his alaskan crab legs to the hooker that he had been with the night before. The conversation got worse. We tried to get our waiter, Victors attention so we could leave. However, Victor was to busy discussing hookers with the two men at the table behind us. It was so bad that Victor was commenting on hooker and other woman. Victor even gave the men his cell phone number and stated the he knew some girls to get to party with .It was to the point that my wife and I got another waiters attention and ask for our bill. Victor then rushed over tried to get us not to leave. He said to excuse them they were High rollers from the poker circuit. This dinner was to celebrate our first anniversary. Instead my wife left in tears from the experience. I would not recommend this restauraunt to anyone. I am shocked that they allow Victor to ever discuss hookers, let alone solicate buisness for them.
Very romantic. Old world class. In the bottom of the 4 Queens Hotel & Casino in downtown Las Vegas, far away from "The Strip" The best service and the best food, but be aware, very pricey. But everything in Vegas is pricey. It was our 20th anniversary, so it was worth it for our special occasion. My hubby's steak was as soft and tender as bread. I had the lobster tails, which they shelled for me at the table. Make reservations if you are going on a weekend. They give you complimentary dessert of chocolate dipped strawberries, dates and figs. But they also have a dessert tray that is too die for. Go hungry, you will be satisfied.
After hearing about how great Hugo's is, and having a friend who is a Vegas local recommend, my husband and I spent a very nice evening at Hugo's. Although we had reservations, we decided to have a drink at the bar before our meal and they were very accomadating of us choosing to wait a few minutes before being seated. The bartender was great! Great drinks and conversation.
Once we were seated we met our team of watiers and began our wonderful meal. We started with a salad made at the table, then were treated with some rasberry sorbet to clean the pallet, and had the lobster and Chateaubriand for two as our main course. We followed with banana's foster for desert, which was delicious!
From the ambiance, to the food, to the service, everything about our experience at Hugo's Cellar was fantastic! I would highly recommend, and although I don't like to visit Vegas restaruants twice so that we can experience all that Vegas has to offer in cuisine, this is a place we are considering going back to next month!
My husband and I have enjoyed dinner at Hugo's on previous visits to Las Vegas (one or two trips per year, depending on the year). We always recommend Hugo's to our friends and family when we know they have a trip planned to Vegas.
Although the food was excellent, the ambiance and service was not. On this trip we traveled with family members whom we had previously raved to about Hugo's. We instantly noticed that Hugo's had been expanded, which was fine with us, except that it lacked the coziness and quite we had come to expect.
The tables occupied next to us were loud enough that we could not carry on a proper conversation. The one on one services that we had before with the waiters was also lacking. The waiter was not readily available like before. His visits (checking in) to our table were too few and far between. Where as before spending between $300.00-$400.00 on dinner for two was not a problem, this time spending $375.00 on dinner for 4 was too much. I would not have minded paying this amount or more had the service we had previously received been there.
Go here!! Extremely romantic and they aim to please ladies and couples. Great food great service in a seedy old casino basement--pretty neat really.
Don't go here with the guys or with customers, take your lover and enjoy.
I read most of the reviews regarding this place before we went to Las Vegas and then selected it. We were not disappointed! It was a great evening from the service to the quality and quantity of the meal. This will be a place we will go back to again. You will not be disappointed with Hugo's.
