This hotel buffet at Monte Carlo Casino offers a wide variety of food choices, and it is especially refreshing because the menu items change daily. The food stations prepare food to order while you watch; it is a buffet with a fresh attitude. The decor is very nice, depicting a Moorish style throughout.
We ate at the Buffet 3 mornings while we were at the Monte Carlo. I think it was a good value, and if you ask for coupons at the front desk when you check in, you can even eat 2 for 1 one of those days like we did! It is $10.95 for breakfast mon-sat, and $16.95 for Sunday Champagne brunch (we used our 2 for 1 coupon on Sunday). Most days, they only charged us for one of our two small children. When you consider that the cafe charged 7.95 - 13.95 per entree for breakfast, and add in coffee juice etc, it did work out to be less expensive to eat at the buffet.
The staff is very accommodating. We were at the hotel with the whole family for a wedding, so at one point, we had 5 tables worth of people. As more would arrive and request to be seated near the others, the staff would smile and say "no problem."
The variety was good, but not imaginative. For breakfast, scrambled eggs 4 different ways, meats including bacon, sausage, ham, hash browns. Pancakes, mini waffles, and blintzes. Sunday they had eggs benedict too. There was also cereal and fresh fruit, dougnuts, muffins, bagels (but usually only one kind of bagel - I would have prefered a larger selection myself.) Also they had an omlete station where you could select what you wanted in yours, and they'd cook it to order.
At dinner, they had Pasta, Asian-style including standard Chinese selections like beef with broccolli, as well as sushi. A Mexican station with enchiladas, and a carving station with beef or ham. Steaks and mashed potatoes with gravy too. Also a seafood station with shrimp, oysters and clams. They had a nice selection of dessets, including a German Chocolate cake, mini strawberry shortcakes, and cream puffs.
The overall theme was Morrocan, but it was very subtle so I didn't think it was anything too special.
