Mature trees shade a trail that winds behind the University of Nebraska-Omaha campus. Students and nearby homeowners come here often to jog and walk. Be sure to look for a recently refurbished fountain. A natural spring feeds the Spring Grotto, although these days a city well helps to supplement the flow. It is surrounded by a sunken garden. Each July, the park hosts Omaha's Shakespeare on the Green event. Elmwood Park Golf Course stretches along the southern side.

Great Park
By Kate, 02/21/08
Probably one of the nicer parks in Omaha. The giant shade trees give it a nice ambience, and all the playground equipment is in great condition. My only complaint is that the street that runs through it is heavy with UNO traffic, so crossing it while walking can be difficult at peak hours.

Great for kids
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/17/06
I love this place becaue it is one of the few places in Omaha where kids can really run around and play. Lots of areas for get togethers as well! It is great!

Daily Peace of Mind
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/23/04
I attend UNO and commute through the park nearly everday. It serves as a great place to exercise or just enjoy a peaceful picnic.
