Fun Plex, Omaha

We were excited for a day full of fun...had searched for family friendly things to do in the Omaha area and based on the website for Funplex thought that we had found it. When we arrived, my kids were so excited. We walked through the arcade and out to the area with rides. Almost immediately we noticed that there were several rides 'out of service' including several of the ones for smaller children and one called 'Chaos' which is for older kids. Undeterred we decided to enjoy what we could. I took my 2 oldest children on the roller coaster which they enjoyed. We went 2 times and then went to get in line for a third time when the attendant put a sign up that said 'closed all day'. At this point I went to speak to the staff at the park to ask if there was going to be a reduced rate due to the multiple rides shut down or out of order. I was told that due to this inconvenience, everyone would be able to enjoy mini golf for free instead of paying the usual 3 dollars per game. This seemed fair. We decided that we would hit the arcade, mini golf and then finish up with rides. I went to the arcade to find it locked, closed up and dark at 2pm in the afternoon. I went back to speak to the staff working in the snack shack (who were very nice) and asked why the arcade was closed. They told me that they might have closed it if it was slow. What?! I asked to speak to a manager. I explained that I was disappointed in the park due to the number of rides shut down and now in addition the arcade. I explained that the website highlighted the roller coaster and arcade as 'main attrations'. The manager went on to explain that when it is slow they simply close the arcade because 'no one wanted to go'. I explained that my children DID want to go, that we had paid for the park pass assuming this was availible. He then asked me 'How many kids do you have?' Why this mattered I am not sure. To his credit he did begrudgedly open the arcade back up. Half the games were broken or simply ate the tokens without letting you play...BUT we did get in. After my kids were done, he closed it back up again. We then went out for our free game of mini golf. A very snotty attendant asked for payment and I asked about the free game in leui of the roller coaster being closed. She informed me that that was over because a different previously closed down ride (chaos) had now reopened (please note the roller coaster was still closed). The grand finale of the bizarre day happened when my 11 year old went on a 'zipper' type of ride....similar to a ferris wheel except that it spins the seat all the way around (upside down). The ride attendant told her not to touch the lever (that you would typically hang on to) during the ride BECAUSE IT SOMETIMES CAUSES THE DOOR TO OPEN. This was by far the worst amusement park we have ever been to. Don't waste your money or time.

I wanted to book my sons birthday party and I left 3 messages within a week and no one ever called back. I stopped by during "business hours" and no one was around. I will not attempt to give them my business. Unacceptable behavior for a so called professional establishment.

.75 cents to rent a locker and an additional .75 cents every time you open the locker. Couldn't find a working water fountain so forced to pay .50 cents for a cup of water every time we got thirsty. $3.75 for a 20 oz pepsi. Drunken muscle-heads and their skanks trashing up the lazy river with foul language and booze. A heavy-set woman was having trouble getting out of the go-carts so she asked for help, but instead of helping her the ride attendants laughed at her. I had trouble sorting out the two seat belts in the double go-carts and the idiot attendant just stared at me looking all annoyed instead of helping. Rollercoaster is dangerous and doesn't appear to be well maintained. We'll never go back. Rumor is their closing next year any way. Good. My advice, spend the money and go to Worlds of Fun instead.

We visit every year and it's the kids favorite day. The park is certainly not a Worlds of Fun or Six Flags, but is does have something for the whole family. I have read some reviews saying it is expensive, but really on the scale of things is more fun for your money than most things in Omaha. Movies cost $10 anymore, and its $20 for just mini golf and go karts at other places in Omaha ($20 at Fun Plex for all the rides, and only $5 more for water too). It costs about $8 for food and drink for lunch but I spent $10 for a combo at Arbys!!! I can understand that its expensive for a WHOLE big family, but they have discount days and also they have wristbands so you can leave for lunch. My only suggestion would be to call ahead for big parties, because it is much more fun when it is not crowded. My family always goes on a slower day and its easier to keep track of everyone. Overall, its probly the best Omaha has.

My daughter turned 3 in August. Most of the rides at Fun Plex I recognized from when I was a kid, from Peony Park. In fact their "new" roller coaster is actually the roller coaster from Peony Park. So since I am 40, the rides are obviously old and not to fancy compared to the rides they come out with today. But, just like I had a great time on these rides when I was a kid she absolutly LOVED them, and wanted to come back the next day. So what I did was throw down something like 50 bucks for 50 tickets, about one ride per ticket for kids rides, and we would come down for five or ten rides on evenings when Mom worked, then play a couple of games in the arcade and have some hot dogs. My daughter had a great time,and we could pop in whenever for a couple of rides since it's close,admission is free, and the lines are short. Comparing Fun Plex to Worlds of Fun, or something like that isn't really a fair comparison. Fun Plex is more like going to a carnival, a little cheasy, but a lot of family fun. I highly recommend it. My daughter asked me about it the other day, but I told her she is going to have to wait til' spring. Oh, and under 3 ride for free!

fun plex is omahas best summer fun attraction. the employees are sweet, they bathrooms maybe dirty but they do the best they can. u probably went on a company picnic day if you thought it sucked. yes, you may expect them to be a little wet after all it is a water park. there are plenty of clean dry restrooms through out the ride park. everytime my children and i go there its the best day of their summer. the margarita ville is a great place to sit back and relax with a full bar at your hands. and on saturdays catch a free concert with your waterpark admission. Its great for young and old alike. they do the best they can there and you can tell.

We went thinking it would be a fun time for the kids. Ages 4,4 and 10. That was far from the truth. The park was overcrowded, filthy and the bumper boat cars were all broke for the most part. (Which is one of the rides they wanted to go on the most.) So the kids were very disappointed. We thought it was so gross (I wouldn't be surprised if they had rats) - in less than an hour being there and have not been able to go on a single ride. We asked for our money back. I will never go there again.

I will admit that this is not the best amusement place, but when you live in Nebraska, it's about the only one. I'm not saying it's bad, it's actually really good, it's just nothing you compare to places like disneyland. It's a nice, small place and it's not usually that crowded but still a lot of people. I LOVE the wave pool and the waterslides! The rides aren't the best but they just got a new roller coaster last year that's pretty sweet. I wouldn't recomend coming just for rides but I would recomend going if you want rides and the waterpark or just the water stuff. Overall, it's a pretty good place in Nebraska.

I went there this summer after about 4 years of not going and good thing it was free because i would much rather drive to Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun. My 3 year old was the only one to enjoy it. It's expensive for what u get, the pools are gross, and don't even get me started on the bathrooms. The bathroom floors were all wet and there wasn't a dry place where you can change after or a good changing table. For the money they charge they really need to build new clean bathrooms.

I Guess it was okay for some of my children, but as for my little ones they were not inpressed, It's a nice get away from all the sun but if you went for anything elsesbesides the water park, i'd say it not worth it.
