Big Fred's Pizza Garden, Omaha

After reading the other reviews I was really looking forward to eating here. I LOVE good homemade pizza. THIS WAS NOT IT. When the pizza come out it had lots of chesse on top of the pizza. I thought WOW this sure looks good. Looks can be deceiving. There was very little sauce on the pizza. We had hamburger and onion pizza and the hamburger looked like it had been sitting in water or very thin pizza sauce and then put on the pizza. There was hardly any taste to the pizza and I had a belly ache the rest of the afternoon and all evening. PIZZA HUT pizza is much better than this.

LET'S SEE ALL 5 STARS AND ONE 1 STAR. SOMEBODY HAS NO TASTE BUDS. EASILY THE BEST PIZZA IN OMAHA!!

This was absolutely horrible. Frozen pizza from the grocery store is better. The abundance of 5-star ratings can only lead me to question the taste of other Omahans.

I moved to Omaha in the early 70's and grew up on Big Fred's pizza. Last day of school pizza parties held at Big Fred's is something I will always remember. I moved from Omaha about 20 years ago but everytime I come home to visit family, I HAVE to go get my Big Fred's fix. It's still the best after all these years...garlic bread and salad (anchovie, please) are right up there along with the great tasting pizza. Love the crust. Keep up the good work for all those locals and us occassional visitors. One note...when are you going to start giving free refills on soda???

I grew up with Big Fred's pizza and after 30 some years of Mom and Dad taking the family to Big Fred's, I still crave it everytime I think of it! I have been on the East coast for around eight years (NJ, MD and NC) and I have yet to find better tasting pizza. I even worked in a pizza joint for eight years and I'd like to think I know a thing or two about pizza. Everytime I head back to Omaha I make it a point to visit Big Fred's...a true tradition and great pizza!

Big Fred's has great pizza and other menu items for everyone to enjoy. Their salad dressing is Italian and very tasty. The only draw back is to remember they charge you for refills!!

if you're looking for something other than chain pizza restaurant, this is the place! an Omaha treasure and landmark! we've been eating at big fred's for 10 years, and have never had a bad experience.

It's a great place to go for lunch or dinner. We like to grab a pizza on our way home from work. They aren't stingy with their toppings. The salads are huge too. I haven't had anything there that I haven't loved.

Great food.... Awesome people! Its a great place for everyone. I've never had a bad experience. I enjoy sitting at the bar. The bartenders always take good care of their patrons.

I was born and raised in the Plattsmouth/Omaha area. Now I live in OHMYGODhoma. I cannot remember a Big Freds pizza that I did not enjoy. Their pizza, their salads, their salad dressing and a half dozen extra anchovies is as great as great gets. On the rare occasions I can make the pilgrimage north there is always three stops---Big Freds for pizza and salad dressing, Joe Tess Place for fish and Broncos for a bag of tenderloins. L.L.
