Jody Newman and Barbie Freund founded this non-profit organization in 1975 with the goal of creating an interactive museum that attracts, educates, and entertains both children and adults. First Impressions is one of the world's largest movable sculptures, standing over eight feet tall. Lean against it for fun and make an impression of yourself. Learn about magnets, electricity or about the environment through hands-on activities such as the Oil Spill Cleanup project, or be a star on the KIDS-TV station.
It was $7 a person, for everyone over age 1, so it was $42 for 4 adults, a 3 year old, and a 1 year old. It was not worth how much it costs. Maybe if you had older children who could enjoy it more. We spent about 2 hours and the kids were ready to go. I have been to much better childrens muesems. It was disapointing.
A nice museum for a child's first visit. We
had a toddler and he enjoyed all the activities, as I thought it was geared more
to that age group. Very good use of an
old Victorian home, just hard to size
it up in comparison to the children's museum
in Indy. Would not be a good place to be
on a very busy day.
Wow- this place is appropriately named! My kids were amazed and frankly so was I. If you are in the St. Louis area you need to see this place. Our only regret was that the next day on the kids menu at Chevy's there was a buy one get one free admission coupon- always a day late, huh? Even at full price though it is so worth it!
The Magic House is great fun for young and old. It is educational in a fun way. It appeals to all ages - from toddlers to adults. We have visited it several times when we visit family in St. Louis and it is one of our favorite places.
The Magic House is magical.
Everyone who enters is magically enveloped by the wonders of this beautiful house. Bring your child (or your inner child!) to play at
the Magic House and you will
be magically youthful, energetic and creative! It's the house every child dreams of living in and yet it's packed full of learning experiences. Children of all
ages can explore magnets, electricity, fishing, tv,and other areas while having fun being physically active inside!
The Magic House is fun for all ages, whether your are a toddler or 50 yrs. It has activities for the little ones like the fun with water. It's safe too because it is gated. Its great imaginary play for older kids who like to do what Mom and Dad do-i.e. shop in the market, go to the bank and work at a TV station! There are all kinds of questions to stimulate the minds of young and old alike everywhere you turn. Also the birthday party my son had there was the most econmical, offering the most fun for the price.
We always enjoy the magic house because the fun never ends! The magic changes with different features like the sandcastle/beach in summer. Also it ties in with local TV like Clifford the big red dog.
The Magic House is always recommended as a place to go when the kids are bored. Or on a winter evening . The last great thing about it is kids are first-The free night they open up for anyone everymonth.
The Magic House is the best!!!
The only drawback to The Magic House is the crowds which limits the hands on experience. The positives do outweigh the negatives. It is unlike the usual museum experience since the children are able to get involved. The pretend town is particularly exciting for young kids.
We travel often, around the country and we have been to many children's attractions. The Magic House Children's Museum is by far the best children's museum we have every seen. It is huge and the kids never run out of new things to do and explore. We have been a few times now and my children still beg every weekend to go back. The place is second only to Disney World!
