Tucked away in a former stove factory turned loft development, Rathbun's offers artfully prepared modern American cuisine in a fun, relaxing environment. Since its opening in 2004, Rathbun's has consistently been listed by critics and diners alike as one of Atlanta 's best. Chef Kevin Rathbun has crafted an innovative menu that is accessible to a variety of tastes and pocketbooks. Snack on a meal of small plates or splurge on one of the menu's Second Mortgage; plates such as the Maine Lobster and Roasted Green Chile Soft Taco. The restaurant also offers an extensive wine list, amazing desserts and a luscious patio perfect for alfresco dining.
Wow. Rathbun's is an outrageously good restaurant run by professionals as professionals. Even as a seasoned traveler, it is a rare experience for me to eat at a restaurant and everything from the kitchen is absolutely perfect. The wine list is both wide and deep, chock full of jewels in all price ranges. The menu has something for everyone and consists of a selection of high palate dishes prepared with a Southern flair.
There are a couple of signature dishes you do not want to miss. Among the appetizers, you will find eggplant steak fries. You must try these, as eggplant never tasted so good. In desserts, there is a peanut butter-banana pie, a creation by Chef Kirk Parks, that is so good it should be patented.
Like the food, the service was excellent - attentive but not intrusive, and very polite and cheerful. Our server had extensive knowledge about the menu and was able to help our party decide what to order.
The restaurant is located in an old factory setting with high ceilings and brick walls. The noise volume seemed high, yet we were able to converse without raising our voices.
Parking was in an enclosed setting with access through a gate. Valet parking is available and there are special accommodations for taxi and limo dropoff.
All in all, my experience at Rathbun's was delightful, and I believe it will become my favorite restaurant in Atlanta.
Actually, this review is for Rathbun Steak. I have to say that it was nice, but not worth what they charge for what little they give. Food was decent-appetizer portions very small. Service was excellent. This place was extremely dark-I could barely read the menu and it was extremely noisy. We ordered the porterhouse for 2 and it was good. Overall, I would not go back a 2nd time. Too noisy, too dark and too expensive for what is really mediocre food-I've had much better steaks elsewhere.
Rathbun's is a refreshing addition to Atlanta's already impressive culinary resume. When you drive up to the restaurant, which is housed in a renovated wharehouse, and you're greeted by one of the handsome valets, you feel as if you're about to step into luxurious five-star establishment. Not that i would rate this restaurant with less than five stars, but it gives a much more trendy than luxurious feel. There is a scrumptious selection of modern american cuisine, inlcuding small plate, big plates and SECOND MORTGAGE plates. None of which will break your bank. The service is terrific. The drinks are great. I'd recommend it to anyone. However, DEFINITELY get reservations, especially for nights and weekends.
We had yet to visit Rathbun's, but after many tries for reservations (we're late planners) we were able to make one for last night in order to celebrate our fifth anniversary. Wow, this place is impressive. The warehouse district you drive into is a bit curious, but any questions you may have upon arrival are answered when you open the doors. We immediately realized we were in for something special and we were right. Johnny, our clearly-Southern server, was alot of fun and always seemed to be there right before you started looking...great guy and down-to-Earth (not a given at this sort of spot). The food was beyond expectation...please try the crab tart appetizer. The Lobster taco entree was the first thing I spotted and Johnny advised us to stick with our first urges. I did and how rewarding.
They even gave us their dessert specialy, a peanut butter - banana surprise...it also was mouth-wateringly good.
Best compliments and thanks for a great evening
The food was spectacular. The menu is very strong, and the wine list is great. If you decide to go, you better make reservations waaaay in advance or plan to wait at least an hour to dine. The service we received was not the best but the meal more than made up for that. They offer free valet, and also have a covered outdoor patio (not reccommended if the temp is above 90). And what
does an experience like this cost you?- Let me just say, expect to get a second mortgage-LOL.
This is the most unique restaurant in Atlanta. It is in a unique area of Atlanta - Innman Park. Rathbuns has a great atmosphere, where you can sit down and enjoy the ambience and the wonderful food. Great Menu, super Starters, many Main Courses to choose from. Ummmm delicious desserts. A wonderful bar, and the correct wines to go with your main course. Rathbuns is the best Restuarant in Atlanta. CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN AGAIN.
Don't let the 20 foot skull that serves as an entryway deter you from enjoying the best burgers and pub
food in the city. When club hopping in Atlanta, a visit to this late night spot is a must. ...
Tucked away from the traffic of Little Five Points, this homey spot is easily missed, but not by locals. Crowds
line the sidewalk on weekend mornings for omelets, pancakes and, of course, the signature biscuits. Dinners are less famous, ...
Housed in an old triangular building that forms the corner of Flat Shoals and Glenwood Avenues, this no nonsense pub
is a throwback to times when a bar was just that: a good place to get a drink. Rustic ...
