Kendall's Brasserie at the LA Music Center, Los Angeles

I would like to say that this is the perfect place to go for a romantic dinner, a nice afternoon lunch, Kendall's is a absolute perfect place to enjoy a meal before or after a SHOW. We just had a wonderful time on fathers day 2010, We enjoyed a matinee show and went to Kendall's right after. Got seated in 5min (they take reservations). We never heard of the place and just walked in. The menu was out of this world the service was equal. Long story short! It would be a shame if you are in the area and don't enjoy all Kendall's has to offer!!!!

A serious disappointment - what arrived on the plates bore little resemblance to the menu descriptions, and was on par with Denny's. One additional insult was that the wine recommended by our server turned out to be $25 per glass - no mention of the price when the recommendation was made.

Though others have noted poor service, our experience was different. Our server was very good, and even made a note that we were trying to make an 8pm curtain. The ambiance was very nice as well. My steak was very good, the whitefish was alright (nothing to write home about), and the Lobster was boring and very small (for $34 you might expect a larger catch). The appetizer salad with pears & blue cheese was very good...and the steamed mussels were also very good. Bananas Foster was ok. Though our experience was positive, overall, I probably would not return...it felt over-priced...$260/4 people, only 2 glasses of wine.

Food was a mixture of amazing and boring. The steak melted in my mouth and will have me ordering it almost every time I go. The side dish of macaroni and cheese was like nothing I've ever tasted - certainly not like your mom's or the local diner. It was a must-have. A friend had the chicken dish and said it was also delicious. However, the fruit and cheese appetizer was ho-hum and not worth the money. Service was also terrible, but it was after an event at the Dorothy Chandler pavillion and they were swamped. They should have staffed accordingly. However, since I was among friends we enjoyed ourselves just the same.
