SPIGA Ristorante Italiano
SPIGA OPENED IN DECEMBER 1995, BY CHEF ROBERTO LEGRAND, who now manages it. Over the years SPIGA SUCCESS has been established on simplicity and personality of the dishes in a romantic, cozy and charming atmosphere that reminds THAT REMINDS US OF OLD ITALIAN VILLAS.ACCORDING TO SOUTH FLORIDA GOURMET MAGAZINE, "THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW THAT SPIGA EXISTS AND SERVES EXCEPTIONAL ITALIAN CUISINE".SPIGA'S CUSTOMERS ARE VERY DIVERSE PEOPLE. EVERY NIGHT ANONYMOUS LOVERS AND FAMOUS PEOPLE OF ARTS AND BUSINESS COME TO THE RESTAURANT IN SEARCH OF GOOD FOOD. FOR ALL OF THEM, SPIGA OFFERS ITS TRADITIONAL MENU BUT ALSO A SECOND CHOICE OF "SPECIALS", INCLUDING FRESH PASTA, FISH, MEAT, RISOTTO, APPETIZERS AND DESSERTS ALL MADE DAILY AT SPIGA.
Extraordinary food: handmade pastas, in-house baked desserts, and a very well-considered menu. The server recommended handmade quadratini pasta with truffle oil and mushrooms - it was incredible! Try the homemade desserts - my light ricotta cheesecake was comforting and delicious. Considering that the restaurant is in South Beach and right on Collins, you might think this is a tourist restaurant, but you would be wrong. It is not as expensive as other tourist location restaurants are, and the food is well worth the visit, even if you're a Miami local. Beautiful, warmly lit room and an outdoor patio, excellent service...you will love this place.
