We have dined at this restaurant several times over the past 3 years and had always found the food to be "decent" until this last time. I had a steak that was inedible-it was loaded with fat and gristle. For $30.00 bucks I would have expected it to be excellent. To make up for it they gave me a bread pudding for desert, which was equally as horrible. How does one screw up a desert?? The service was sketchy and slow as well. We have since crossed this place off the list.

This is definitely a local spot with great food and great prices. I don't know if I would go to dinner here for a romantic night out but a great local lunch spot. I went for my Honeymoon to the big island we drove to Hilo for the day looked up restaurants and glad we came ever was one of the best meals of the week.

Great local place

We were staying at a Bed and Breakfast in Hilo and asked where a good place to eat was. They suggested this restaurant. It was a pleasant surprise. It was a small upscale restaurant with really good food and service.

So good we ate there twice!

We were on the Big Island for a week for a wedding, and this place was so good the first time, we had to go back for more! We tried it for lunch both times. I love that they use as much organic, local fare as possible. The fries were incredible!!

A hidden gem of a restaurant in an unlikely location. The name may be nondescript, but the food is not in the least. Really excellent and urbane, and a complete surprise in Hilo.

Hilo's best, which is good enough to hold its own anywhere. Excellent fresh local ingredients, creative sauces, beautifully presented. Service can be rather relaxed when it's busy, which is very often. Lunches are very reasonably priced. Small but good wine list. Yes, it's in a shopping center near OfficeMax -- don't let that deter you!
