Oceans of Fun, Kansas City

I was in the lazy river and I looked over at my beach bag. A white kid between 14 to 16 years old was searching through my bag as his cohorts were watching out. It was 2 black kids and 2 whiite kids, same age. I got out and confronted him what he was doing. I left and they all took off in 4 different directions. I'll be looking out for them next time i go since I have season passes. I don't leave money or cellphone in my bag. BE CAREFUL OF THESE KIDS.

The experience is just unforgettable. The watery adventure were beyond our expectation. There were so many things to choose from and they all look so fun. My family and I enjoyed them at a reasonable prices. I recommend you visit Ocean of Fun's special offers at themeparkcoupons

I have never been to Oceans of Fun and this upcoming day will be my family first. So far I have read the recent reviews and the park sounds terrible. I pray my family of 8 does not endure the horrible comments that were posted. I will pray to my Lord above from my lips to Gods Ears. Please Lord let us enjoy this trip. Worst water park in the world....best advise I can give anyone is DO NOT GO! Wave pool was full of hot spots, do'nt think it was from the sun... Go to schlitterbahn instead..no BS extra charges.

First of all, it was filthy. Not just the bathrooms either....the eating areas, walkways, everything. It was just nasty. And we were there shortly after opening, one of the first few groups through the gate. I would expect it to be a little dirtier towards the end of the day due to so many people. But there was no excuse for it to look like that upon opening. Second, the food is outrageously expensive. But I don't really count that against them, since it's like that in basically any amusement park type attraction that you go to. It did seem to be higher than most though.... But third, and the thing that bothered me the most.... The lifeguards are absolutely the rudest people I've ever met in my life. I don't think I seen a single one of them smile during the whole 7 hours I was there. I was in the lazy river with kids when 3 young teen boys started to swim against the current, which it clearly states you are not supposed to do. One of them jumped toward another one (horse-playing), missed him, and slammed into my 3 year old daughter, knocking her loose from my grip. She had a life jacket on, but it still startled her and she swallowed some water. All the while, this lifeguard is watching the whole scene. She never said a word to the boys. But when I grabbed my little one and moved over to the wall with her, because I was afraid she would make herself sick between the coughing and crying, the lifeguard blew her whistle and started screaming at me to keep moving. I explained why I had stopped and pointed out that there was no one behind me and I was not causing a problem. Then I pointed out to her that it wouldn't have happened in the first place if she had enforced the rules with the young boys.... She completely ignore that and told me to get moving or get out. Never once did she ask if my child was okay, or if I needed help with her. At that point I left the lazy river with both of my kids and went to one of the kiddie areas, where there was another scowling lifeguard... The first time my 3 year old went down the slide her bathing suit twisted a little so she stood up to at the foot and was trying to untwist it. I started walking towards her when I saw what had happened and when I was about 3 feet from her the lifeguard noticed she was stopped at the bottom of the slide and proceeded to SCREAM at her, loudly enough to make me jump, let a lone a 3 year old (who was shaking in fear at this point). At this point my husband about lost it. He said a few choice words to the lifeguard, grabbed our daughters and we left the park. I understand there's a reason for the rules and I understand the need to enforce these rules, especially pertaining to the safety of the people in the park. BUT there is absolutely no need for the rudeness, and there is certainly no need to scream at children when the parents are standing right there. I was completely disgusted with this place in almost every possible way. We've been to our fair share of water parks, this is BY FAR the worst. It is filthy, the staff is rude, and it is entirely too expensive for what you get....

Ok I go to Kansas city every year and every time I got to oceans of fun. The bathroom is clean even though you have to pay for the parking and storage it is for a great time I am going to leave in 24 minutes sleep at a hotel and go swimming the second the park opens. My family loves this place and I will be bake many times again. Huge water slide. The food was really good but it is about the kids who likes it and im 12. It is the best water park ever. I also love the staff because they have conversations with you. Somehing that doesent happen often at water parks. I dont recomend the monsoon unless you are about 8.

I've been to Oceans of Fun several times over the years. It's 3 hours from us, so it's close enough for a nice 'mini-vacation'. We are going back in a couple of weeks. I was interested to read all the negative reviews about the service. I guess I've only ever dealt with staff as far as lockers & tubes go. Tubes seem just as expensive at any other water park I've been to. The lockers did seem a little pricey, but not a huge deal. As far as food, we always pack a lunch and go outside the park to eat. They have picnic tables and grassy areas, so it works really well. The park is small enough that you don't have to walk 50 miles to get back to the parking lot to get your lunch cooler out of your car anyway. Overall, I can't speak much to the service because I haven't had a need to rely on it too much. It's a really fun park to visit and it's laid out well, and every few years, they seem to add something new to make it a little more fun. There's something for everyone to do there. I will continue going as often as we can!

That place needs updated from the 80's and the bathhouses are the dirtiest I've ever seen. The extra charges of parking, lockers, innertubes are a complete rip off. There also seems to be no managment in sight. The place is run by high school/ college kids. There was one young man working the top of Hurricane Falls who really seemed to be enjoying the work and making it fun for every guest. He would fit in better at Disney World.

I can't say I loved it, but I can't say I'd never go back either. The food was terrible, the lines were long, and to be honest I was a bit bored. Just like every other water park, only a little worse. My two favorite parts were the wave pool and the lazy river(the only rides without a enormous line.) Although I did have some fun.:) The wave pool had HUGE waves that knock you down with every step.=D And the lazy river was relaxing-yet entertaining. All together-a little below average.

I was worried when I read some of these reviews, but we went to Oceans of Fun in KC, and found the staff to be very polite, the place to be clean (even the restrooms). It's not cheap, but we had some coupons from Subway, so that helped, and I think we paid about $27 each, with $10 for parking. We went about noon on Saturday, and didn't have to wait in line hardly at all. My 2 teen sons, my husband and I had a great time.
