They have the most colorful stage props and costumes. The plays in the young childrens group are always so entertaining. I am 42 yrs old and have 2 children 5 and 2. My husband and I enjoy going as much as our children do! We have been season ticket holder for the past 3 years and also purchase the season tickets for 3 of our nieces/nephew each year as their Christmas gift. It is such a great place for kids to learn and enjoy themselves. If we had only once choice of theatre in this area The Coterie would be our first pick. I am a talking ad for them because we enjoy it so much that we always suggest it to other parents with young kids. My husband and I have even gone to a couple of the pre-teen plays and enjoyed them also. There is no place like home (Kansas City) for plays!

We've seen several plays and loved each for different reasons. Plays are presented in a fun and energetic way to thrill children of all ages and keep their attention. The actors and sets are also very good. I have 3 boys, the one who never sits still was sitting on the edge of his seat in antisipation of the next scenes. My oldest who has been in a children's theater group for 5 years has also been very impressed with the theater, actors, scenery, props and plays he's seen. Plays offered are geared to different age groups and of varied interests so be sure to check out what choices are being offered for the season. The olny drawback would be the fact that in late spring there are many school fieldtrips that quickly fill up seats. The good thing is that they do let the children sit on the floor just infront of the stage. Talk about closeup action - the kids love it.
