For KC, You Won't Do Better for Seafood

My wife and I went to M&S for our anniversary. My wife loves seafood, and this place came highly recommended. It did not disappoint.
From our online reservation, they knew we were first-time diners, and we were warmly greeted when we checked in. Our table was ready promptly at the reservation time. The seating area was very nice, with a huge stained glass dome above where we sat. Actually, the shape of the ceiling makes for the only minor complaint about the restaurant: it amplified the sounds. We couldn't hear anyone else's specific conversations, but the ambient noise was loud and we had some trouble hearing each other, as well as hearing our server.
The food was outstanding. I had the Seafood and Corn Chowder to start with, and it was terrific. So often, the white broth of a chowder doesn't taste anything but salty. However, this broth was very flavorful. The soup made a great dip for the bread. For the entree, I had the Mako Shark on a bed of mashed potatoes topped with red pepper spiced onion rings, and my wife had the Seafood Newburg with wild rice and broccoli. Both dishes were delicious and filling. Unfortunately, we had no room for dessert after our meal.
We found the service to be prompt and courteous throughout the dinner. It is pricey for what we're used to (but not out of line with anything else on the Plaza), and some people may not like that the entrees do not come with soup or salad, but we thought it was worth it. The soup, salad, and entrees came to just over $60.
We will certainly dine here again, and would recommend it to anyone who wants good seafood in KC.
A word of warning: If you don't like seafood, do not come here! There were a couple of other options available, but seafood makes up over 95% of the menu.
