Branson Scenic Railway, Branson

Loved, loved, loved ths little trip!! I had been planning a trip to Branson for 11 months. I took my sister's 4 children and my granson with us. When I saw the Branson Scenic Train ride 4 months before our vacation, I knew I had to take the kids. It was so informative, educational, and just plain fun!!! We went in tunnels, over bridges, came close to sides of mountains, passed throug little towns...it was just plain fun!

We paid for tickets in advance and planned our entire day around this. We rushed through the event prior to visiting the train to ensure we were on time. We get there on time only to be told they must have 30 people to go out. We had 25 and it did not matter that 150 had just got off the train for the previous ride. It sounds to me like they need someone to handle scheduling. The conductor basically said too bad. The train is run by Time/Warner Bros. Entertainment. I believe in treat me right/ I treat you right. Guess what Time Warner I will be paying close attention to your products and doing my best to avoid providing any support towards them. I guess like most big companies it is all about the money with you folks. We were refunded our money and given the option to reschedule. The majority of your passengers do not live local and this was more than a slight inconvenience. We were not offered any kind of voucher for our trouble, you know discount or 1 person rides free with a ticket purchase. No problem there are excursion trains in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Colorado for anyone who might want to actually ride one. I live in state but not local enough to be back tomorrow, but when I do visit Branson in the future the train won't be on my list. Consumers beware. Don't waste your time as we did.

This was a waste of money. We paid 170 dollars for 4 adults and two 14 year olds, who were also considered adults. The term scenic is a misnomer;all you see is A BUNCH of trees, you go through two tunnels, and go over two tressle. Some of the windshields were cracked also. For nearly 200 dollars I would expect much more. If you come to Branson, please consider spending your hard earned cash somewhere else. Thanks

The train is too old. Not great as it show in pictures.Just not what I thought looks like 3rd world train.

It was great to board a streamliner from 'back in the day' without anything being 'cutsey'. The Ozarks were gorgeous! Too bad most of the folks on the train had flown for California to Witchita and had ridden the rest of the way to Branson. They didn't know where they were. One asked, "have we crossed into Illinois yet? Yes, you do see tree after tree after tree it's the Ozarks! (Is it the California people on trip whining about seeing trees?"

We were very disappointed in this. We watched the video they have and I don't know where they got that footage because we didn't see any of it. All we saw were trees and rock. Do not waste your time or money. The best view we got was sitting on the benches at the front of the train station!

I have never written a review for anything however after our SCENIC????? Train ride on September 27, 2011 I felt compelled to write. What a waste of money and a hour and a half of time these people wouldn't know scenic if it fell out of a tree and hit them on there head. I second all the other negative comments on here you all hit the nail on the head. You see nothing!!!!! A waste of $52.00 or whatever it was. I took one picture that's right ONE of the train in the station. I did not take a one on the train. If you want a scenic train ride I suggest the one from Vancouver to Banff Canada or the Alaska train now that is scenic I'm sure those of you who have been on those would agree with me. On our return to the station I circled scenic drew question marks on it with all kinds of sayings like refund, boring, should have slept blah, blah, blah, it made my wife chuckle then back at station I put them on the windows of two other cars in the parking lot I'm sure when they got back from there SCENIC ride they got a nice laugh. So heed this warning save your money!!! I would highly recommend Dogwood Canyon it was absolutely beautiful we were there four hours took 120 pictures very scenic and a heck of alot cheaper. All you see are trees and rocks. We were expecting to see allot of buildings. We couldn't wait until the trip was over. Not worth the money. We really wish we would have been able to use our money on other things. Plus we pretty much where hot and sweaty the entire trip. Very disappointed!!!!! Don't waste your money! Save your money for funner things!!!

Fourteen of us will be going to Branson in Noember, wanted to take the children on the train ride. No way will we be doing the train ride. Thanks for all the comments.

I am very very disappointment with Branson Scenic Railway. ALL we saw was tree. 20 miles on one way then went back other 20 miles on the same track. NOT round trip. No wonder I do not see much pictures on advs or brochures about scenic. Nothing ! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY The BUSINESS SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN FOR GOOD UNLESS CHANGE ! ! THAT IS THE WORST RIP OFF IN BRANSON I EVER HAD DO NOT BUY THE TICKETS THERE ! PLEASE LISTEN ME ! ! ! ! ! !
