Free is what you pay,,,,,,
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/29/08
This is free, you have a wonderful veiw of table rock dam. I did not like the fact that all you could do was feed the fish. I wish that there had been a little more here. There was a movie playing but it was not really interesting...I would go because it is free and could be interesting to those who like things like that. Just not for me

fun and educational
By KJG, 03/10/08
the hatchery is a great place to bring kids. Our kids all love it and they range from 3-11 years of age. They have fish food to buy for .25 each but bring a cup to put the food in. Great place to take the kids to. It's FREE so that makes it even worth the trip. We come here almost everytime we are in Branson, that's how much the kids love it!

They are Fish
By Jon, 12/04/07
It is a neat place to go for the afternoon. It works out nice because it is free and at the base of the Table Rock Dam which is also another nice place to see the lake from. Bring quarters if you want to feed the fish. The Rangers are very knowledgable if you have kids that are prone to ask too many questions.

Great educational experience

This is a great place to take the kids and see trout from fingerlings to very large fish. Located just below the Dam you can see it on the free maps available at any Motel. Don't miss it. FREE

Definately fun for a kid and adults.
By A Yahoo! User, 08/06/07
What child does not love to the see fish flopping around in the water. The fish hatchery is just one of those fun things for the kids to do. The place provides fish food for 25cents a handful, you just throw it in the fish holders. Simple cheap fun, doesn't cost to get in.

Kids+Free=A Great Stop
By LVMYKDZ, 08/05/07
Don't tell the kids but this is a great place to go and be educated about trout. I even learned a few things myself. The best part for me was it was FREE(besides the fish food). The best part for the kids was that they got to feed the fish. They have fish food for.25 cents. They also learned about the different stages that the trout grow. We even learned about some spiders. The only thing I do suggest it that you bring a cup to put the food in for the little ones. Our three year old lost most of her food on the ground before she got to the holding tanks.

FREE! Wow..Branson has something for FREE!! Great!
By Tara, 07/13/07
Loved this place...of corse, my family is really into fishing, but it was neat! The kids got to feed teh fish and watch the BIGGINS come up and grap the food!!! They loved it! It's right by the dam, so they thought that was pretty cool also..the dam doesn't give tours anymore, but it's still neat as a picture background for your vacation! The inside of the conservation area is also pretty neat..you can see the biggest trout they have behind the glass wall..also can watch a presentation of the hatchery and learn so much while having a blast. The best part...it's FREE!

From a 'Local' - GREAT place for kids
By Jungle Mist R, 11/02/06
Ok, let's review: It's free - You can walk in the door, do the tour, walk around on your own, see the fish, and learn for $0. If the youngsters want to feed the fish, a few dollars worth of $.25 will keep them going for some time. It's educational - It's not just a hatchery, it's a small education center. Your kids can learn about local snakes, birds, fish, mammals, plants, etc etc. It's a great time killer! Bring a lunch! (btw - I wouldn't base an entire experience/review on one single person on one particular day.)
