This sprawling, white-columned restaurant on The Strip is regularly voted as Branson's best buffet by readers of the local paper. If the building looks impressive to you from the outside, wait until you see the inside. Live plants, including impressive climbing ivies, drape from the soffits. The all-you-can eat dinner buffet ($9.95) offers large pieces of chicken fried in a batter that would make even Colonel Sanders cry. And if the chicken is not enough, try the catfish, which is prepared three ways: Cajun, breaded and baked. There is a smaller buffet section for a more health-conscious diet, but hey, you are on vacation, so live a little!
This is an awesome restaurant! I recommend going after 4pm for their dinner buffet though. It costs a little more but it's alot better because not only do they have their famous pan fried chicken on the buffet for $11.99 but you also get the baked potato bar and blackberry cobbler! They have other choices as well but, these were my fav's! We spent our honeymoon in branson, the first time there for both of us and this was my favorite restaurant! They have live performers working for tips only and sometimes they are good and sometimes they are not so that can be just a tad annoying at times but I still highly recommend this restaurant! They also had $1 branson coffee cups in their gift shop when we were there! Enjoy!
As always our visit was a pleasant experience. I just wanted your entertainer to know that Ferlin Husky also asng as Simon Crum. I am the one who also told him that Hank Williams also sang as Luke the Drifter.
Wife and I have been eating at the Plantation for over 15 years. I was told the restaurant had a new owner. This was obvious since the food is a much lesser quality than it used to be. Service is fair. When I went to pay with my $1.00 off coupon I was told that it was NOW only $1.00 for one person. This is not how it used to be. The coupon does not say that it is for only one person.
We will not go back.
The food was horrible! We ate the very overpriced buffet! 3 adults and a 3 yr old -- our bill was over 50 dollars. very very very salty Roast beef, fried chicken, and dried up fried fish; no labels on salad drsg; Very slow service when not all that busy!! Baked potato bar looked kind of good..but no potatoes the hour I was there. I checked back several times. 2 desert choice cobbler or cobbler. There was a man singing for entertainment and he kept mentioning that he works for tips and where his tip jars were located. We definately got the feeling that this place is out to get the tourists!! They dont expect you to come back.. they just want your money!!
We were told the Plantation had the best breakfast in Branson (who in the world voted this the best breakfast in Branson, the mayor must own this joint). I have never in my life had breakfast meats
this foul or greasy. The pancakes and syrup were
the worst I've had as well. Stay away from this dump.
We decided to eat here for breakfast one morning because it was only $3.99 and the sign said it was voted the best breakfast in Branson. As we entered the restaurant there was an older lady upset because she was over charged a dollar for coffee that she did not order. The cashier, whom later I found out was the General Manager, told the lady that if she wanted her dollar back she needed to go get it from the waitress. I found this very disturbing but we went in and ate anyways. The waitress was REALLY friendly and the buffet was average at best. Upon checking out, the manager did not speak or make any eye contact with me. I politely told him that I found it to be rude to argue with a customer over a dollar especially with other patrons around. He then looked at me dead in the eye and said, "OH WELL!". I left with my feelings hurt and will never be back nor will I recommend this restaurant to anyone else.
We used to go to the Plantation all the time a couple of years ago when we were in Branson, in fact, wouldn't miss it. But during the past few years it's really become run down and dated. The food used to be better to and frankly it's not worth the money any more. There are much better places out there with many more choices like Golden Coral (and it's much cleaner too).
